GuideGreat campground for military, large level sites. Long term sites have covered patios. Full hookup, no wi fi. Laundry rooms, 1.00 to wash and dry, with efficient cycles. Lake with playground and large dog park. Exceptionally friendly staff. Quiet and we'll maintained. Shower rooms available, although have not used. You do hear planes going over but not too loud as some AFB's we've stayed at. Relvery plays at 6:30 am, Star Spangled Banner at 5:00pm, and TAPS at 9pm, not offensively loud, kinda like it. Would highly recommend and will be staying awhile great monthly rates. Great Verizon signal.

They have DVD's and some books we trade them where were there. We only stay a night & stay hooked up to the truck. The owners Gigi & her husband work hard to keep the gardens beautiful, the campground maintained & the pool is so clean & refreshing. You can get propane here.

ScoutReservations made yhe night before online. The campground has not changed nanes yet but will be known as Unhitched Montgomery. Some short time stays and a bunch of long term stays. Clean bathhouse and great outdoor gathering areas, really like "the hangout" area. Pet friendly. Laundry available. It seems secluded but there are a lot of conveniences nearby. People at front desk were very friendly. Easy pull through sites. Highly recommend.
RangerTraveling back east, we found Chewacla State Park campground on The Dyrt. Due to heavy rain, did not make it as far as we wanted, so this was a last minute same day reservation, which we made online.
Total fees were $42 for a full hookup site. We got site 34 which is an 80' long back in spot. Super easy to back in, even in super dark conditions with heavy cloud cover and no street lights of any kind.
Water pressure is awesome and they have both 30 & 50 amp electric. Sewage is nicely placed in a low spot so you won't need a hose lifter (a rarity in our experience).
Out spot is across from the bath house, but also the dump station. No smells, but I would imagine mornings might be a bit congested and noisy as other campers are leaving and dumping.
Also directly across from the site is a large picnic shelter. Sites are decently spaced apart, though site 35 is a pull through, and though unoccupied on our nights stay, might make it feel a bit more cramped.
Our site had a fire ring and picnic table. And even though it's close to the highway, no noticeable traffic noise. Only thing we could hear were some kids playing across the campground.
It's about 5 minutes off the interstate and very easy access (just watch out for the staggered speed bumps at the campground entrance...it's narrow, too.
No wi-fi in the park. But Verizon 4G was 3 out of 5 bars on my Samsung S20+.
Overall a great spot and easy to reserver online for those looking for a calm and peaceful overnight. Looking forward to getting a run on the trails in the morning!

GuideThis is our second stay- had premium site before- they place your travel trailer so the trailers are facing the same way because you can’t back into the premium. . We had a pull through this week- no shade, but C2 had a nice view. We will be back for the month of November.
LegendStaff is wonderful, campstore is well stocked. Sites are all full hookup pull through. Restrooms smelled like Men's showerhouses and laundry facility was dirty. The ice machine was in with the laundry room and seemed unsanitary/locked. There were at least 16 permanent travel trailers that were run down and made us feel unsafe/uncomfortable at times.

LegendOur GPS led us directly to the campground (CG) on US-231, conveniently located on the west side of Troy, AL. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. We stayed at site 60, which featured full hookups (FHUs) and a level cement pad with well-positioned utilities. Water pressure was high, so we used a reducer. The CG offers WiFi, but we couldn’t locate the guest network during our overnight stay. This wasn’t an issue, as we relied on our Starlink and T-Mobile home internet, which performed well despite just one bar on our phone. Verizon reception was also solid at three bars. The CG provides cable, which we didn’t use, but our camping friends in site 59 confirmed it worked well. The older section of the CG is shaded with mature trees, while the newer area has fewer, making it ideal for satellite users. Compared to our last visit a few years ago, the only noticeable upgrade was the addition of tiny houses near the office. The CG remains clean and well-maintained. One downside was the heavy traffic at our site from long-term residents returning from work, many of whom didn’t observe the speed limit. Deer Run also offers water and electric sites in the newer back section, which we plan to request for future short stays.
LegendThis review is based on a short-term stay versus a destination campground(CG). We traveled into the CG on the US highways following our RV GPS from FL with no issues getting to this CG. Check-in was very easy, and we were guided to our online reservation first choice, end site 19. Our check-in person was concerned we might not like pulling through site 19. He was correct, as this site was too short and had an incline at the unhitch point. We proceeded to the newer area, where we were given the choice of pull-through sites 97& 98, which were both FHUs and flat. We chose 98, which was fairly level and plenty long enough for our 5th wheel and F450. The sites in this CG are close to each other. There were no trees so that we could have put out our satellite, but there was no need due to the great cable selection. We got 3 bars on Verizon and used our MifI for what little internet we needed. We tried but could not connect to the CG's WiFi. They have very good water pressure, so we used a reducer. Where we were in the back of the CG, we could still hear the highway. There was no formal dog park, but plenty of areas to walk your dog. This is an older park with many permanent and seasonal residents. We were impressed that, for the most part, there was not that“trailer trash” look, and the residents were friendly. There are newer water and electric sites in the 100s area in front of where we were. There’s a shower house and laundry, but we did not use these facilities. This CG is a good short-stay option.
