Best RV Parks & Resorts near Gurley, AL

Hoover Met Complex RV Park near Gurley offers full hookups including water, sewer, and both 50-amp electric service with pull-through sites that accommodate larger RVs. Greensport RV Park and Campground maintains 179 sites with water, electric, and sewer connections for RVs across terrain that typically requires minimal leveling. "This is essentially a large parking lot with RV pull through spaces. We use it when we go to Birmingham to visit family," noted one camper about Hoover's facilities. Thousand Trails Hidden Cove in Arley provides year-round access with full-hookup sites, though reviews indicate the older sites are predominantly 30-amp while newer sites feature 50-amp service better suited for larger motorhomes and fifth wheels.

Many RV parks across northern Alabama feature gravel pads with varying degrees of levelness. Lakeside Landing RV Park and Marina on Logan Martin Lake maintains waterfront sites, though one reviewer cautioned, "sites are very unleveled with minimal gravel but almost all have a 6x9 concrete pad." Cell service varies significantly between campgrounds, with Hidden Cove reporting spotty Verizon coverage but adequate AT&T reception. Pet policies are generally accommodating at most parks, with designated walking areas but few dedicated dog parks. Several facilities provide on-site sanitary dump stations, though Lake Guntersville State Park campers noted the need for advanced planning as some sites have full hookups while others offer only water and electric. Propane fill services are limited, requiring trips to nearby towns for refills.

    Boaz RV Park

Cheap rates, and a great location.

This is a small rv park located in Boaz Al, its just down the street from the Boaz police station so its nice and quiet. They don't have a lot of amenities like pools, or playgrounds but its great if you just need a cheap place to stay. As of this review its $20 a night for either a 30 or a 50 amp hookup along with water and sewer. The monthly rates are $400 for 30 amp sites and $500 for 50 amp sites.

    Lake Guntersville State Park Campground

    Lovely area to stay!

We arrived one day early which was semi planned, but we were not in the spot we were staying for 11 days. Thank goodness because the pic on the site Vs reality was a pretty big difference. We have a big rig and no way we would fit. I figured I would have to finagle something in my own to get us a different site. NOPE! They guy at the gate helped us out and 5 min later we had a site! Store has a few things in it, including some Lake stickers/shirts/etc with Lake Guntersville on them. There is a little library box by the store with books people have put in after reading. There are sites for full hookup, water/electric, or primitive. There are long term sites as well. There is plenty to do! Beach, boat, water pad, basketball and tennis courts. Laundry available. Nice bathrooms and bathhouse. Dog park for bigs and Littles! The power went out once for a couple minutes and then again due to an accident on the mountain. There are neat things within the park to see and do. Hike/trails, golf, fish, zip line, horseback riding. A must stop is to see the donkeys, goats and emus. Towing to get here is interesting, but doable! We have a 42 ft RV with a 16 ft boat behind and we made it. Close enough to town but you have to go over the mountain. There are some neat stores down town and a farmers market.

    Corinth Recreation Area

    Perfectly Designed for RV Newbies!

Loved this park! It was our first trip in our new Travel Trailer and it couldn't have gone better. We stayed at Yellow Hammer site #9 easy pull through with plenty of room. Not only did all the sites have amazing scenery but the roads were well maintained. Full hookups and AT & T cellphone coverage good enough for working from Trailer. Verizon cellphone coverage didn't work here. Each site fully equipped with fire ring, picnic table, and lantern poles. Wood available for purchase from host.

Beach & Bath houses were closed due to COVID-19

We spent a lot of time walking with our kids on the trails and riding scooters around the campsite roads. Nature trails were extremely well kept with great views on the water

Best site is Yellow Hammer #17

Lakeside Landing RV Park & Marina

    One and done

The view is fantastic if you are lakeside- but it stops there. Most rentals are along one row and a couple of the lakeside sites. Sites are very unleveled with minimal gravel but almost all have a 6x9 concrete pad. No pool, no fire rings, spotty wifi and frequent brown outs on power. Both shower points smell horrible but appear clean otherwise. Lots of long-term vehicles. People are friendly and pets are welcome.

    Cherokee Campground

More of a Long Term Living Area

Most of the pads were filled with long-term residents. The owners were very nice. The rate was reasonable. Our gravel pad was not wide enough to be a) level and b) slide/awning out at the same time. The electric hook-up was at the opposite end of the pad from the water and sewer hook-ups. Some neighbors were friendly, others were a bit suspicious of us as interlopers based on how many times they walked past our area. Overall, would only stay again in a pinch.

Noccalula Falls Park & Campground - TEMPORARILY CLOSED

    nice but cramped

we stayed in a tent site in dec '22'' , the sites are very close together and the tent  site we were on hardly had enough space for our 3 person backpacking tent . there are fire pits, grills, and tables available on each site as well as water  . we appreciated the security gate and extremely clean and heated bathhouses with showers . the park has a nice playground and a pool we were unable to try during the winter months .  the campground is very close to town and as so expect alot of noise from traffic

    Thousand Trails Hidden Cove

    Bring your boat

This RV park is right on a lake, but a bit away from anything else. If you have any sort of boat, kayak, paddle board, bring it! There is hiking about an hour away at the Bankhead National Forest.

You can pick your spot when you arrive. I like that.

A and B sections are the original sections. C section is brand new with 50 amps hookup. All the big rigs there.

I was on C74 with a great backyard overlooking the hills.

Bathhouse is brand new and squeaky clean. You can see that almost no-one uses the campground shower because one of them doesn’t have a curtain to separate your dry clothes from the water. And neither of them have a caddy or any spot where you can put your soap.

Pool was not open when I was here in April which was a shame. It was hot enough. I would have enjoyed a swim, especially so we there is not much else to do. I don’t have a boat yet. 🙁

    A decent Thousand Trails campground.

I had no reception with Verizon but my AT&T hotspot had good reception.
