    This is an Amazing KOA

FHU, paved and level sights, clean and updated bathhouse and clean pool, playground, dogpark, koi pond, horseshoes, cute general store with necessities and souvenirs, propane refill and firewood! Has a quaint pond, with a bridge, and displays colorful lights at night. The Owner, Lori, showed us to our spot, and made sure we had everything we needed and gave us info on local shops and parks. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We have been to this KOA 3 times now, and can’t wait to go back!

Great value for money with a spring on the doorstep.

4 RV sites with water and electricity(30/50 amp) hookups(no sewer). Showers and toilets are very close and clean and well maintained.
The family staff is incredibly nice and helpful.
Internet is fantastic, both their Wi-Fi and our Starlink.

Clean, nice views, private and luxury, ssites too close

Nice place on the lake, well maintained. We wanted to do laundry and try new kind of a campground. Overall positive, but expensive. Sites are really near each other, no privacy. Probably ok for one time. Will go back to the more simple campgrounds. Had Wi-Fi, slow 1-2mgb/s . Att reception is fast.

    Fun Family Trip

I have been going here since I was a little boy and was finally able to take my wife to camp here. I love this place. The road to the damp grounds are very sandy and iffy when it rains. The camp site itself is nice and private. The bath house needs cleaning from the roaches and spiders. It also has a small playground. The canoe trip is a must!!

Lost Reservation: Cost me 400.00 in Gas/18 Hours' Drive Time/Vacation Day

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE:  I made reservations back in August of 2022 for the July 4th, 2023, weekend (11 Months in advance). On my day of arrival, June 29th, I pull into the campground to check in and come to find out, the owner, Matt Fox, had lost my reservation. Matt works from home outside of Chicago. My card had been fully charged for the full stay 11 months prior. I traveled with my truck and 33-foot bumper pull camper for approx. 450 miles to be told I have no camp site. This is a unique campground. I had no other options. Instead of them realizing their mistake and assigning me a site and then making calls to cancel a reservation that was made after mine, they simply turned me away. The onsite managers tried to figure something out by trying to fit a square into a round hole. LOL. Meaning force my 33-foot camper attached to my 4-door truck around a 90 degree turn to then hit the overhang of an adjacent camp site roof over and over an eroded trail. There was no way it would fit is my point. That made me question their knowledge of the camping world. The owners operate off site near Chicago. They micromanage the reservations and local managers have no control over it. This business model is a joke. And this is a clear example of how it does not work. And from what I heard; matt makes mistakes all the time on reservations. They don't keep good records, or they would have never lost my paid in full reservation. This cost me the customer and they don't care. So here I sit, 450 miles from home with the cost to get there, pissed off and agitated knowing that I have an 8-hour drive back home because I have no other options. And a Holiday Weekend! They said they would give me a full refund and I had to ask for 100.00 for gas assistance. But they gave me no confirmation number of the refund. That had to come from Matt! The total trip was around 18 hours and approximately 900 miles which cost me around$400.00 in gas plus a lost vacation day from work. The drive home was very frustrating. I could not believe the way I had been treated. I honestly was in disbelief. It was the owner's fault and not the camp host/managers as the owners in Chicago run the show. And not a very good job at it from my experience. I sent the owners a text and picture of my odometer showing the average mpg and how many miles traveled and the time and ask for a$900 reimbursement. But they refused. How would you feel if you drove that many miles and for that length of time and spent that amount of money for nothing? They do not know what customer service all is about. They got their camp full for the July 4th weekend with over booking so I did not matter. I was nothing to them. They even required full payment up front. They are just looking out for themselves and are struggling apparently. Please, for those reading this, stay away. Its not worth what I went through to walk around naked and have man on man sex in the woods. This place disgusts me from a customer service standpoint.

Old and run down. The staff are lazy

As far as the campground goes, the ground is nice and even with fire pits and trees. But the bathrooms and showers are dirty and gross. The staff is lazy and rude. The grounds are rundown. The slides look dirty and unsafe. Over it was over priced for the experience offered.

    Outstanding

This is one of the best campgrounds we've ever stayed! Beautiful, picturesque campsites. A lot of them have lake views. Bathrooms/showers are gorgeous.

    We didn't use the pool.

They have a nice camp store/office.

There's a lot of wooden fishing docks. Boats to rent.

The gate has an access code, but they text you with the code. I didn't check my texts, so there was some confusion on my part.

The only negative thing I can think of to say is the sites are rather tight. We had an empty site next to us for 2 nights, so it was all good!

    Horrible Experience

It took days to make a reservation - when I arrived, a storm had taken out electricity and internet. I tried to cancel a future reservation - they do not provide refunds. They don't respond to messages and threaten you with small claims court for disputing charges. They are the definition of nasty and why people hate dealing with gay people.

    Super Fun Mud Park

We love Boggs! If you have 4 wheelers, sxs, mud trucks or even just a gas powered golf cart, come check this place out. RV Hookups, Cabins, primitive camping and Boondocking available. Bath house and showers are a little scary so I recommend bringing an equipped camper or renting a cabin with a bathroom. The cafe has yummy breakfast and serves standard concession food the rest of the day. They are not open until Saturday so plan accordingly. We love to boondock here. There are lots of spots in the woods. Boggs offers a variety of different mud terrains, but also boasts gorgeous wooded trail systems, lakes, swamps and even a cave you can explore. My 7yr old lives for this place and it’s wonderful to watch him unplug and explore the outdoors with us and his friends. If you’re looking for a ritzy weekend, this place isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for a muddy, good time and making great memories, bring the whole family out for an adventure they won’t soon forget! 10/10 recommend this place!

    Don’t waste your time here.

I’ll start out with the PROS. Good service for AT&T and Verizon (3-4) bars. Lots are spaced out, you’re not on top of people.

THE CONS The staff here are very rude! WAY over priced for the area, Unlevel pads, wifi doesn’t connect to my computer nor phone. Sewer pipe doesn’t have threads so I was forced to go out and buy an adapter for it. Also for everyone traveling with your pets. As stated (For your dog to be here is a Privilege)

My opinion doesn’t matter but I’ll refer everyone to go to Cypress landing Rv park instead

    Would never recommend this place!

This place has a list of issues. For beginners they list they have leveled pads and let me just tell you the are FAR from that. People drive through the campsite all night long doing 30-40 MPH! They have a barn and every night people are over there partying being loud not caring about the people that actually have work the next morning. The washers and dryer’s absolutely suck you have to dry your cloths 4 times for them to be dry!!! I could go on for hours about the terrible experience I had here!

Nice place for a quick stay

We had a pull behind travel trailer and needed a place to park for the night with our three boys. It’s a nice little park with a playground and lake which is pretty. However when we pulled in and hooked up, our electrical box at our site was broken with the door literally on the ground overgrown by bushes and the site was pretty washed out. It is a decent little place to stay at night but if you have little ones, be advised there’s no fire pit to rock some s’mores and just not a ton for the little ones to do.

    Run down and misleading website

After reserving a"pull-through" site eight weeks in advance, we were told that we had been moved to an adjacent site upon arrival. No explanation was offered but after telephoning the owner in Chicago, the guy at the gate said we could have our original site after all and led us to it. One day later, neighbor campers arrived and we learned that they had also been booked into the site that we were in, however they had only booked four weeks earlier. Double booking is common apparently, and we learned that during a busy Halloween weekend, several guests had to be shuffled around to the permanent residents due to lack of space...including sleeping in cars. Although the site we booked was marked as a pull-through on the website, due to the location of the trees and the length of our pull-behind(28 ft), it was impossible to actually pull through, and we backed out of the site when it was time to leave. The tree cover is nice and shady, however several low hanging limbs make maneuvering difficult. We could not extend our awning fully without hitting a tree. Some sites have sewer hook-ups but the community dump station was closed. We were told to find an empty site that had sewer and just dump there. We had to move to two different sites to find a sewer hookup that worked. Many of the sewer ports are located on elevated ground when compared to the campsite, so the sewage is forced to flow up hill. Maneuvering this campsite is not easy. The map on the website is misleading and no in/out loop exists. What is marked as an outer road on the map is an overgrown dirt path now. Coupled with week cell service the available wi-fi only works inside of the clubhouse. Also, our 30 amp camp site could not support AC and a microwave for 30 seconds without tripping the breaker. With that said, the people we met were very nice, but we will never return.

    Well-kept Campground

KOA campgrounds really vary in so many categories. This one was super convenient to the hwy (consequently, some road noise through the night.) Very clean, great dog area, modern laundry, nice bathrooms. Showers were tepid, but very clean. I would stop here again. Ask for site #12 or #13 to be further from the road.

    Horrible Camping Amenities

Absolutely horrible service. They mostly cater to divers. The fire pits are full of trash, bathrooms look like they haven't been cleaned in years, and we didn't even have a picnic table at our site. We told them yesterday after we checked in and they said they would have someone bring one out. It's day two and still don't have one. Campground store employees are very rude and no help at all. We are not snobs by any means but we will never come back here. Absolutely worst place we have stayed at yet in our teardrop camper.

    Awesome stay

My kids and I absolutely loved it here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did tent “glamping” so we had electric, water and wifi nearby but still enjoyed our time away from concrete buildings. We had a fire pit, picnic table, and parking to ourselves. The pool came in clutch since it is very humid and hot over there. It was nice, CLEAN and refreshing. My kids are not too big so we had enough space to play backyard games not sure there is enough grassy area for older kids or adults. You can walk around and down to the pond and check out the surroundings for added entertainment. The bathrooms and showers were tidy and clean. I really did love it here and based on my experience here I will be looking at other KOA Journeys to visit. My experience is based on a tent site and I’m fairly new to camping. Hope this helps!
