Pymatuning State Park Campground

Beautiful lake on the Ohio/PA border. Similar to most Ohio state parks. Clean bathrooms/showers. Don’t forget to feed the carp!

Nice campground on a lake. Plenty of spots for both RV people and tent. Bathrooms and showers were nice. This is in Ohio and is slightly cheaper that the Jamestown campground down the road in PA.

A beautiful park! We love being near the water when camping and at Pymatuning most if not all sites have views of the beautiful lake and the Pennsylvania shoreline across the lake. The campground is busy and very popular but the crew is super efficient at checking in campers, answering questions and especially maintaining the grounds. Quite a few of the sites are lakefront and of those a number are full hook up - and the FHU sites in the central section are new within the last two years. Boat ramps are part of the campground and are used by many campers. Some quaint Amish shopping is nearby - but not much in the way of grocery stores as the closest towns on the Ohio and Pennsylvania sides of the border are small and built to support the local communities. We love this park - our new favorite in the Ohio State campground system! P.S. The only slight downside for us is weak T-mobile cell service. Not a big deal but work requires us to stay in touch and work remotely via our hotspot.

We stayed for a week. This was a really nice park, very clean and quiet. The sites had plenty of space and nice views.

5 stars just for the Autumn visuals. 1 star for the fact that we got in after dark and ALL the numbers for the electric sites are posted in non-reflective lettering. We couldn’t find our spot.

This is a large campground with mostly RV sites. The tent area was relatively small with little space or privacy between sites, and a picnic table and fire pit at each. Most sites were pretty sloped. No real hiking trails here unfortunately, its mostly a fishing/boating park

We tent camped here in early June.  GPS had a hard time as there are so many locations referred to as "Pymatuning State Park."  Campsite was fine other than trying to find room to put our big tent.  The showers were great--roomy and well maintained.  Wish there were more hiking trails; unless you fish or boat, there isn't a lot to do.  The Ohio State Parks website is a bit clunky!  Very little, if any cell service.

Save that old loaf of bread so you can feed the carp. Look up to spot a bald eagle beautiful sunsets and sunrise's Have to go at least 1time to this park. I will bet you that you will come back

Phenomenally awesome state park site,included amenities such as cleaning stations, restrooms, playgrounds, public beaches,& relaxing vistas to just kick back on a bench to have a picnic or just simply take in the views around the vast area the lake itself covers. The entire area especially during early summer to fallmonths is brimming with excited visitors. Locals all coming to one central location to relax& get their outdoor on whatever that may be for the visitor. The  lake includes exceptional fishing, boasting a few of PA's record holding catches, withholds deep& serene beauty,& is very easy to create memorable experiences alike. Plan a day trip or few day stay to see why so many people choosePymatuning State Park as they not to far get away destination today, you won't be disappointed that you did.

the lake is beautiful  and the park is clean but the cabins or the one I was in needed maintenance badly.front porch was soft and spongy .the screened in porch had huge holes in the screens and a huge gap in the floor .the picnic table and fire pit were leaning  badly. the bedroom had a hole in the wall which should  have been a easy fix if anyone  cared. the boat rental was nice

Our first time camping at Pymatuning State Park in Ohio. The facilities are older, but kept clean with workers constantly around checking things.

There are 3 sections to camp. We stayed in section 2, site 82 which had a direct view of the lake and was close to the bathhouse and restroom. If you have younger kids, this site is for you. The playground is right there as is the beach.

We didnt look at section 1, but already decided next time, we will go to section 3 as that seemed more shaded and no playground.

The store there had just about anything you could need for supplies at a reasonable price.

We will definitely return.

To check in at this campground, the parking lot is to the right of the campground entry road and you need to walk over to the left of the road to the camp store. This campground offers private shady campsites right on the lake. It's great for boats and kayaks. There were plenty of trees on our site to hang hammocks. The bathrooms/shower houses were clean. There is a small beach at the campground and also a larger one up the road. This is a great fishing spot. Birders will enjoy the variety of species found here including Bald eagles, Orioles, Osprey, Prothonotary warblers, Yellow warblers, Great blue herons, Kingbirds, Kingfishers and many others. We saw other types of wildlife too including: butterflies, toads and turtles. Nearby attractions include Linesville Spillway (feed the carp) and Linesville fish hatchery. There are not a lot of hiking trails on the Ohio side, but we drove around to the PA side and found some. This remarkable campground has plenty to do for everyone.

This campground has spacious sites and there is primitive and full hook up sites available. Pets are allowed in certain sites. Sites are also available along the lake. Access to lake is a plus for boaters and fishing.

Of all my camping trips so far, this is my favorite.

Great stay! Breeze from the lake made hot days cool. Everything is relatively close with in a few mins walk. Some showers facilities updated and nice. Good fishing spots. It’s nice because there are a few sites that aren’t too close together and you have more privacy.

small beach, size of someones swimming pool... need a boat for best fish experience

If you’re looking for a family getaway complete with a park and a lake, this place is for you! Our family made a nice fire-cooked dinner and breakfast and later on went fishing. The bathroom facility was nearby and was kept clean. The only thing I wasn’t super thrilled about was the fact that we were onIy 10 feet away from another set of campers. It wasn’t a very private location. However, if a group of friends were to go and rent out campsites right next to each other, it would suit their need of not being too far away.

If you’re looking for an off-kilter, poop in a hole and cover it type of place, I’d consider elsewhere. But for a family bonding trip, it was great!

We camped on the Ohio side of the lake but spent several hours on the Pennsylvania feeding the HUGE schools of carp at the spillway. Where else can grandparents buy stale bread and feed these "Pig Fish" ? The ducks do actually walk on the backs of the fish to battle for scraps of bread !

Campground is located right on the lake. Great access for boaters. Swimming area and playground.

Thete is a beach, playground, fish cleaning station, boat docks and clean shower house. Great Halloween celebration.

It was windy and wet, but overall great camping weather. The Fall color were all out. 45 degrees in 2016.
