Lets start out by saying that it could have been worse. Not sure how much but it could have been worse.
Started out by arriving at the grounds.
You need cash for everything. This place is scaming someone. I'm sure they the government is not getting what they should be with an all cash business.
They show us on the map our full hookup. We get there and learn from other campers that we have to pull through but backwards all utilities are on the wrong side. Even our fire ring and picnic table was on the wrong side.
While we were there we found that there were over 500 sites only thing is that almost all of them are seasonal. Just about every seasonal camper has a golf cart. Some with loud stereos flashing lights and just about all of the drivers are drinking . Even seen kids jumping off being pushed off and trying to jump on them. Great entertainment if you are watching jackass the movie. It's not relaxing at all. I used to live in the city and near NYC. This place looks like the Vegas strip or time Square but instead of taxies ………gulf carts until 11pm. They say there is a strict 5 mph…..yeah right cars and gulf carts zipping by all day till 11 pm.
The seasonals well I think that they let other campers in so they the seasonals can stare gock and look at you like we are a display in a department store window or a zoo exhibit. Every time they go by zipping on their carts
The spaces are so tight that one can barely fit between the next rv. So now you have to turn up your music just to listen to what you're into.
The pools….1 is for adults only………unless they have changed the age of adults…….there were kids in both pools.
Staff was rude and ignorant well 99.98% of whom we had encountered. The best example is when my wife and I went to the snack/ice cream place in the park. We arrived approximately 30 minutes before they closed we waited to be waited on. We can see 3 or 4 girls in the window talking and laughing among themselves. Ignoring us calling for them. Before we knew it..it was quiting time. On of the teens turned around and slammed the window closed and another turned off the lights.
I could go on
Bottom line is if you are not a seasonal member don't go. None of the seasonals want you there
Nice Campground near the parkway. Easy on and off. Near fuel and restaurants. Have to check the hours due to covid
Masks are required for places where social distance is difficult
We did some summer mushroom 🍄 hunting
Staff is really friendly
This is a beautiful marina. I think it is maintained by Delaware State Parks. There is plenty to do there like fishing charters, crabbing, fishing and bird watching. There is also parking for the public beach. There is a camp ground next to the marina too. A great place to spend the day
When we pulled the rangers where blocking traffic to the park. They said that the park was full. OMG they were right. No wonder Maryland is a hot spot for covid 19. After about an hour we were able to get to a camp site. Not the one I reserved. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. After setting up we ventured out to the camp store that is located at the concessions near the packed beach of the lake. We didn't find anything that resembled camping items. So we decided to go mushroom 🍄 hunting. Wow we hit the jackpot. The showers were fairly close and clean. There were a lot of signs that pet prohibited 🚫 in the park. But the cedar loop did have 🐕 dogs. They are just not allowed in the rest of the park. We had good cell service and no reception on the tv
This park is a great place and location. Full hook up and even free laundry. I was surprised that I was picked in the lottery and was able to start on base. The Billeting Office was very helpful. Safety was on their mind as hurricane Isaias blew through the Delaware coast. 1st hurricane i have been through. The showers were cleaned daily. Depending upon where you were parked. They had cable boxes but I couldn't get it to work (I was even a cable guy in the past). We were without power due to Isaias until Thursday morning but didn't matter cause I came to enjoy the beaches and the ocean. I just wish there was more to do on base. I recommend that you go sea fishing with the Judy V
This is a nice place to stay by the river. There is no on line reservations. Every site is really tight. And the fire pits are just about sitting on the road. If your fire is too big look out that you don't catch your vehicle or camper on fire 🔥. It's that close. They do have a small bar that has bands on Saturday night. The biggest problem with that is the bar is not complying with state regulations for covid 19. Every bar stool was filled and outside with the band locals and campers with out ppe. Other than that the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I have to put this on here…… If you are coming from route 19 north about 10 miles from intestate 79 past the Stonewall Resort there is a huge dip in the road. I missed part of the huge dip that swallowed my camper and left it bouncing around the road This is just a FYI 😁 Good luck and happy camping
What a wonderful weekend and 4th of July holiday. We booked this site A12 a little bit late and didn't get to pick a water front property. The A & B sites seems to be the original camping area. A&b are a little bit run down and very tight with some tricky parking for a rv or camper. The rest of the park is wide open and looks like very easy parking. We were happy to get to see fireworks on the 4th even though our dog didn't care for them. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly Would recommend to visit
I'm not sure why they have this as a separate camp but this is where the spillway is
Save that old loaf of bread so you can feed the carp. Look up to spot a bald eagle beautiful sunsets and sunrise's Have to go at least 1time to this park. I will bet you that you will come back
This is a great place just of interstate 79. Been going there since I was a kid. In fact my family used to own property near by. This park has an awesome trail system for walking or biking
This place is a great place to watch the sunset. Lake Erie has the best sunsets east of the Mississippi lots of things to do from fishing for walleye or perch or just out on a watercraft. This property is maintained by the Erie Port authority.
I used to really enjoy this beautiful Campground area. I would normally give it a 5 star but this last trip I had to lower my rating.
1st off felt like I was being watched by 1 of 14 camp host's in fact the one I had to deal with in the 1st loop was just not nice and rude. Then there's the neighbors we had. OMG they were aweful. They even called the rangers on us for an extension cord plugged into their box. I was just trying not to have it out in the open for my kids, wife, and grandkids to trip over cause it's plugged into my box. LOL, it's not like they are getting charged for it and we both have electric.
So, it's kinda tight most of the sites. But there are a few that are really nice too with lots of space
My wife Tammy and I just got back from the outflow rec camping area this is a perfect place to see Ohiopyle and the Laurel Highlands
Great place with a lot of things to do for everyone Pool Fishing Hiking
Great place to camp, fish, boat, and do much more. I love the fact that you can tie your boat or wave runner right at most of the sites. Just no booze
This park is one of my favorites in Ohio at this time. Most of the sites are some what private. There are many trails and even a fog park next to the lake.
This is an excellent ran Army Corp camping area. Great fishing and great family place
Very friendly place except for the firewood lol yes it just didn't want to burn other than that it a beautiful place great trails beautiful scenery Gods Country
Can't wait to go again
