Windhaven RV Resort

Windhaven RV Resort sits along the Wind River just outside Dubois, Wyoming, operating from May 1 through mid-September and accommodating rigs up to 75 feet with full electric, water, and sewer hookups at each site. The gravel sites are level, well-maintained, and spacious, with back-in and pull-through options running roughly 30 by 60 feet. Rates run $45 to $55 per night, though a few reviewers note the posted price and the rate at check-in have occasionally differed. A 10% military discount is available.

River-front sites are the standout option here. "A great camp fire ring, access to the river and wide well kept sites," notes Jennifer H., who recommends requesting one of those spots specifically. Kids have used the river for swimming, and fire rings at each site give evenings a consistent focal point. The hosts have also run occasional events, including an ice cream social on Sunday evenings. The bathrooms draw repeated attention from reviewers, who describe them as spotless and well-appointed with clothes hooks and benches.

Amenities cover the practical range: full hookups, a dump station, laundry, WiFi that multiple campers describe as reliable, a fenced off-leash dog area, and wood available for purchase on site. "The restrooms were spotless and spacious," reports David L., adding that the attention to detail stood out. Water pressure runs high enough that a regulator is worth having on hand.

Windhaven functions well as a base for regional travel. Grand Teton National Park's closest entrance is roughly an hour away, with the more visited areas closer to 90 minutes. Yellowstone is reachable as a day trip. Dubois itself has restaurants and a well-reviewed military vehicle museum nearby. Reservations are accepted and worth making, as the roughly 25-site property fills up. Campers wanting more options in the area can browse places to camp near Dubois, or check out Solitude RV Park just down the road for a comparison.

Cute and clean!

We drive in after hours. Super easy check in using a qr code posted on the door. The owners were friendly and responsive. The park is recently remodeled and squeaky clean. Adorable laundry room, nice bathrooms, and gorgeous firepits in every site.

A gem on the river

The camp host was so kind and respectful. We arrived late afternoon after the office close but well before dark. She guided us to our river front spot which was bliss. A great camp fire ring, access to the river and wide well kept sites. The kids all went swimming in the river and warmed up by the fire after. It was so much fun. We’d definitely stay here again. Get a river front spot for sure!

Great stay

We called & were lucky to get one of the last spots for the night with full hook ups. The hosts were super friendly. The restrooms were spotless & spacious- lots of attention to detail with clothes hooks & benches. The grounds were very clean & well kept. They even have a leash free clean dog park. We couldn’t have asked for a better one night stay!

Great River Views

This was a great stay while visiting Teton National Park. While 1 hour from the closest entrance, it was more like 1.5 hours to the more popular Teton areas.

For $65, we felt it was a bit pricey but the amenities made it worth it. We had a beautiful corner spot by the river, had full hookups, and they even offered higher blocks for our jacks at the spot. Brand new fire pits, with wood to purchase on site, and an ice cream social on Sunday evening. The hosts were very friendly too. We were sad to leave!

If you have the time, highly recommend the National Museum of Military Vehicles nearby - it was Smithsonian level! We spent hours there! We also visited the Cowboy Cafe for breakfast which was wonderful too.

Great spot in Dubois

Great gravel campground with level ground for RV parking. The host is very nice and welcoming, views are amazing, and the facility is super clean! Best bathroom/shower I have ever used. Fenced in dog area was great and allowed my two dogs to stretch their legs off leash. All hookups available for RV at your site. I highly recommend staying here! It was perfect for our stop to the Teton National Park 1.5 hrs away. Pricing was more expensive than what was listed, but offered at 10% military discount!

Good Stop over

Stayed here after leaving Yellowstone NP and driving through Grand Tetons NP. Couldn't see the Tetons because of wildfire smoke. The owners were welcoming and friendly small town folk. Small place with maybe 25 sites or so, full hookups. Some on the river. Had a pet area, laundry, and short walking trail nearby. Big rig friendly. Best of all....WiFi was great.

Great Views! And great location for things to do and see!!

We stayed here for a couple weeks in June.  The sites were big and Allen the owner/host was great!  Close enough to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons along with other great stops. The town of Dubois is a great little town with some great places to eat.  We would definitely stay there again!!
