Wind River View Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Open and exposed, Wind River View Campground sits on dry, treeless ground near Boulder, Wyoming, where the Wind River Range is visible on the horizon. Sites are small and set in an arid landscape with no shade, which makes summer afternoons noticeably warm. Campers arriving late or passing through on a longer route will find the setup functional: pull in, hook up, and move on without much fuss.

The campground has full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections, accommodating RVs up to 80 feet. WiFi is available on-site, though one reviewer noted it disconnected during a storm. Showers include heat in the bathrooms, and a laundry facility rounds out the amenities. The sites sit close enough to the road that some noise carries through, and the surroundings are more open range than forested retreat. Stokes Crossing and BLM Dispersed near Boulder (US-191 / CR 136) are nearby if a different setup suits your trip better.

The owner comes up repeatedly in reviews as a genuine asset. Theresa N. notes that "facilities were clean and the owner was really nice," and multiple other campers echo both points. Cleanliness is consistent across seasons. Pricing has drawn occasional comment as leaning high for the area, so it's worth checking current rates before booking, especially for longer stays during the June through September 15 season.

Many campers appreciated the helpful owner and clean facilities with reliable hookups. A handful of reviews cited concerns about dirt-only sites lacking shade and occasional road noise, though most found the location adequately quiet.

Ok for overnight

We were here on a HOT day and wanted ac. Other than offering hookups, cleanish bathrooms with hot showers and a laundry facility, there isn’t much here. There are small, treeless sites in a very dry, open area next to the road. There is no river view that we could find. There is a view of the mountains in the distance.

No shade

We pulled in here last min after driving all day. Campground is quiet with good amenities. There is no grass or shade so it’s a little warm during the day. Price is fair.

Nice Campground

Really nice campground. Has beautiful view of the Wind River Range. Nice, easy-going host. Only downside would be the road noise, but that's not real bad.

Pretty location but dated

The owner was very nice and helpful. I had ok cell reception with Verizon. The wifi consistently disconnected but I will assume it was due to a large storm in the area. The laundry area wasn't opened yet as it was early in the season. Quiet location with a shower and heat in the bathrooms. I enjoyed my stay here but I am giving only 4 stars as it seemed over priced for the area and far from town compared to other campgrounds.

Easy and basic, but all good

Stayed for a night on way from CO to Jackson area. Not much to it, but easy in and out. Hooks up all fine. Nice owner helped us with a propane tank issue. Decent far-off views of Tetons and Snake River, but definitely not a reason to stay here just for that. Would have given it 3stars for being basic, but we there on a Friday night and they had a really nice outdoor fire and s’mores for our kids, so nice touch. Restrooms seemed to be decent, but given COVID, we did not use.
