Peak View RV Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Open terrain surrounds Peak View RV Park, a privately run campground outside Guernsey, Wyoming, where the landscape stays exposed and the sky runs wide in every direction. The park sits roughly 13 miles from town, so arriving with a full tank and stocked cooler is worth planning ahead. Nightly rates run $30 to $32 for full hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer, and spaces accommodate rigs up to 60 feet.

Most of the park's sites house long-term residents, leaving only 6 to 8 spots available for overnight visitors. Cell service has come up in multiple reviews, so campers relying on connectivity may want to check their carrier's coverage for this stretch of Platte County. The single shower room is small but consistently described as clean, and the laundry facility includes two washers and one dryer. Reviewers note the faint sound of passing trains at night. One site was found overgrown on arrival in a recent visit, so confirming your reservation details ahead of time is a reasonable step.

The surrounding area gives campers a solid base for day trips. Kathy S. notes she "traveled to Oregon Trail tracks, Pony Express stop, and Fort Laramie on a day trip," all within roughly 15 minutes. The park allows pets and has open land for walking dogs. Campers who prefer a more developed setting with waterfront access can find options at Sandy Cove — Guernsey State Park or Cottonwood Cove — Guernsey State Park, both located to the northeast.

Many campers appreciated the friendly owner and excellent shower facilities, though site conditions are inconsistent. Limited amenities and remote location 13 miles from town may not suit all visitors.

Bleak and needing an upgrade

The site we had reserved was overgrown and inaccessible, but we were moved to a site that was. I did call and get a response which was the best thing I can say. This campground is bleak and exposed, minimal facilities. It needs a refresh badly

Small Park

Mostly long term campers, only 6-8 sites available. That is pretty standard for this area. Traveled to Oregon Trail tracks, Pony Express stop, and Fort Laramie on a day trip. Only 1 bathroom, but it was excellent with wonderful, large shower.

Awesome view

My husband and I arrived and parked in the reservable space. Accommodated spaces are 60ft max length. Was greeted by the owner of the RV park. Very nice down to earth. Spot has full hook up 30 and 50amp. Laundry facilities only had 2 washers and 1 dryer but wasn’t a down fall for us. The view is amazing, mostly quiet with the faint sound of the train going by. There is only 1 available shower room, very clean hot showers. Lots of land to walk the dog but not much to do for the kids. The town is 13 miles away for gas and groceries. There are many historical places to visit just 15 minutes away…. Ft. Laremie, Oregon Trial Ruts, , Gurernsey National Park and the Register cliff
