Fishing and swimming draw campers to Sandy Cove, one of several loops along Guernsey Reservoir in Guernsey State Park. Sites are non-electric, each with a picnic table and fire ring, and the campground is ADA accessible. Water levels on the reservoir can vary significantly by season, which may limit lake access. A nearby rail line runs close enough to affect sleep. Rates are $10, reservations are available, and pets are welcome. Cottonwood Cove — Guernsey State Park sits just to the east for campers wanting a different site configuration.

A harmful cyanobacteria bloom (HCB) recreational use BLOOM ADVISORY has been issued for GUERNSEY RESERVOIR as of 6/19/26. Go to deq.wyoming.gov for more info. Avoid contact with water in the vicinity of the bloom If people, pets, or livestock come into contact with a bloom, rinse off with clean water as soon as possible and contact a doctor or veterinarian.
As of 3/23/26, a fire restriction is in effect. Wood fires are not permitted at all. Propane and gas grills are permitted. Charcoal grills must be equipped with a lid. Seminoe, Buffalo Bill, Boysen, Sinks Canyon, Medicine Lodge, and Curt Gowdy are all reservable sites where you are permitted to have wood fires in designated areas.
