    Overview

Green River Lakes Campground is located near the shores of beautiful Lower Green River Lake, at an elevation of 8,000 feet. The lake sits on the western edge of the rugged Wind River Range in Wyoming. Visitors enjoy hiking and backpacking into the adjacent Bridger Wilderness, as well as fishing and canoeing on the lake.

    Recreation

The lake is open to small watercraft only, making it an excellent location for canoeing and kayaking. A primitive, carry-down boat launch is located at the lakeshore. Anglers fish for brook, cutthroat, rainbow and mackinaw trout. Hiking and horseback riding into the Bridger Wilderness and Wind River Range are popular activities enjoyed by visitors to the area. Trails in the area include the Continental Divide Trail, Highline Trail and Lakeside Trail. A trailhead parking area, horse corral and water trough are just outside the campground.

    Natural Features

Square Top Mountain towers over scenic Green River Lakes. This unique peak is part of the Wind River Range and tops out at an elevation of 11,581 feet. Most campsites afford scenic views of the peak and the lake below. Lodgepole pines dot the campground, offering very limited shade. Wildlife and summer wildflowers are abundant in the area.

    Nearby Attractions

Pinedale is the nearest full service community, and is located 50 miles south of the campground.

    Nice Campground

Really nice campground. Has beautiful view of the Wind River Range. Nice, easy-going host. Only downside would be the road noise, but that's not real bad.

    Pretty location but dated

The owner was very nice and helpful. I had ok cell reception with Verizon. The wifi consistently disconnected but I will assume it was due to a large storm in the area. The laundry area wasn't opened yet as it was early in the season. Quiet location with a shower and heat in the bathrooms. I enjoyed my stay here but I am giving only 4 stars as it seemed over priced for the area and far from town compared to other campgrounds.

    Awesome Stay!

We rolled in without reservations over Labor Day weekend and, while they didn’t have a FHU site available for us that first night, they had us stay one night in their dry camping area.

We spent the next two nights in site 13 with FHU and loved our stay.

The grounds are well groomed with ample space between sites. Plenty of shade and great views of the mountains. The horses grazing in the open areas just added to the ambiance.

The staff is wonderfully accommodating. The laundry room has 2 washers and dryers and the showers are free for campers.

    Secluded and truly in nature

8 miles down a dirt road in the Bridger Teton Forest was absolutely worth it for these views. The sites were well spaced out, each site had a bear box, and the vault toilets were immaculate. The camp host was extremely knowledgeable about the campsites and was able to recommend ones suitable for my roof top tent and view preferences. Definitely worth it. Dont forget to check out the hot springs both the formal ones and the one by the waterfall!

    Dry Camping, thank you!

We had some vehicle issues and needed a place to stay close to Pinedale. The campground was booked for sites with hookups but allowed to stay on the lawn to dry camp and use our generator for the same price as if we were full hook up. Twelve miles away from Pinedale mechanic, but the only place available at the time for what we needed.

    Great quick stay!

We spent the night on the way to Jackson from Denver, we called late at night & they were super accommodating. Very easy to maneuver through the campsite, easy access from the road— light traffic noise but the cars were few & far between.

    Large sites!

This RV Park offers nice large sites! Our site us full hookups but it appears some are electric only. Lots of nice green grass and big trees. Sites are very level! We are along the back fence so less road noise, but also the spaces have no trees in the back and are basically dirt. They need lots of gravel! However, I give them a five for the large space size and nice hospitality!

Friendly accommodating owner and nice place to stop and explore the area

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and needed a place to dump, do laundry and take on fresh water after a week of boondocking outside of Rawlins and this place fit the bill nicely. Our dog had been bitten by a rattlesnake while boondocking and had to stay 2 nights at the vet In Rawlins, which made us miss our 2 night reservation here. The owner, Boo, was very understanding and accommodating. She didn’t have any available spaces when we did arrive, but she let us stay in their dry camping area and apply the 2 missed FHU days to cover 4 days in their dry area, which was very level. FHU site 23 opened up and we moved there for 2 more days in early July. The sites all looked very level and are very spacious for a private CG. Ours was almost perfectly level. Some sites were open while others had a few trees. There is a little road noise from US-191, but not excessive. Our sewer receptacle was a little recessed, so I couldn’t get our hose threaded tightly, so I had to weight it down. AT&T coverage decent, ranging from 1-2 Bars of LTE with service up to 5.5 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 10 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

There isn’t much in Boulder, but Pinedale is just 12 miles away.

White Pine Wyoming, Ski and Summer Resort

    Summer use also!

This ski area has developed summer camping options. There is a camping area with several tent cabins, teepees, and 6 RV spots. Also a general tent camping area. Shower house is available to campers or $5 fee if just buying a shower. The 6 RV spots are very tight together and have zero shade (hence the three stars). RV spots with water and electric are $30, $20 no hookups. Tent cabins and teepees $30, bring your own tent $12. There are hiking and Mt biking trails for summer use. However, Fremont CG and Trails End CG are only $12/$6 senior per nite for "dry" RV camping and that is likely why the camping area at white pine was completely empty on a week in July. Too bad as it is a small local operation...but the close proximity to FS CGs is too much.

This is a beautiful lake with lots of hiking nearby!

Some of the spaces are a little narrow and would be difficult to get through with a big rig.

A nice quiet spot in a parking lot near a boat launch. It had clean bathrooms with a garbage can inside the bathroom. Dispersed camping opportunities can be found, but are quite scattered along the lower and southeastern side of the lower lake. Better places for dispersed camping are located further up Fremont Lake Road/Skyline Drive, past the turnoff for Half Moon Lake Resort.

    Stunning area and great camping!!

So this was such a gem to drive up to, the views are just big wowsers. It was a bit late in the season, mid-September, so wasn’t sure what to expect. But the campground is very well-maintained, and there are bare boxes and lots of sites available with stunning views of square top mountain. It was pretty cold, but the sun comes up and warms you up fast. Will be back in the summer with a kayak and plan to do some of the longer hikes to other lakes.

    Wow

The veiws, trails, and sites are awesome. The creek with the hot springs are everything. I would definitely go back here. Its a little of a drive from the main road on a dirt road, I wouldn't recommend a small or low vehicle driving that road.

    Beautiful well maintained

Great spot in the Granite Creek recreation area. Once on the granite creek road there are about 20 sites with rock fire pits dispersed along the river for 8 miles (down a dirt road). Then you will hit the actual campground which has a lot of good spots with picnic tables, bear boxes and fire rings. Sunny and shaded spots available. There is a beautiful waterfall about 1/2 a mile up from the campsite where you can walk into the river. Another 1/2 mile up you will get to the hot spring pool $8 per person. Really beautiful warm water and not busy. We camped Thursday night and the campground was about half full.

Easy and basic, but all good

Stayed for a night on way from CO to Jackson area. Not much to it, but easy in and out. Hooks up all fine. Nice owner helped us with a propane tank issue. Decent far-off views of Tetons and Snake River, but definitely not a reason to stay here just for that. Would have given it 3stars for being basic, but we there on a Friday night and they had a really nice outdoor fire and s’mores for our kids, so nice touch. Restrooms seemed to be decent, but given COVID, we did not use.

    Beautiful and clean!

We were there over the 4th of July and were able to find a site. Each site was far enough away from others that ypu had plenty of privacy and lots of trees! There were multiple outhouse facilities and were really nice for outhouses, but one was without any TP. Overall excellent place to camp with well marked trails. DON'T FORGET BUG SPRAY!
