Secluded, but noisy.

We were at site #9, great spot for tent. There were only trees behind us and our neighbors were far enough way we had privacy. There was no electricity, but we charged our phones and my son’s iPad at the ranger station. There was no running water so bring sanitizer. The swimming pond was great and not rocky. The hikes were good but lots of mosquitoes which made it hard to enjoy. Wish there was more to do in the area. No showers and no electricity in the bathroom near our site.

Beautiful view at the top

This state park is highlighted by a truck up the side of a bluff with a beautiful panoramic view of the area. Aside from that, pretty sparse accommodations and the campsites are pretty tight as well.

Decent with few amenities

If you want a secluded no amenities experience, this is your place. The bluff hike was cool, the beach was ok and very small. Lots of train traffic and flights due to the nearby military base. The lake/pond is right on the road which makes for an odd experience. The site was clean but only had rustic restrooms. The small towns nearby are fun for a quick visit.

Great one night camping spot

The highway is there and the night train schedule was 22:45 03:10 and 03:15. There are plenty of washrooms. Fire wood is sold at the camp ground entrance. $5 a bundle, cash or check. The swim spot is refreshing and not rocky. Our site was audible isolated from the other sites. Good luck and have fun.

Meh....

We picked site 2 and wish we picked 11 or 12. Those sites looked more secluded, where ours was right next to the road/entrance. All in all, the park was really clean, and the bluffs are beautiful. Not terrible, but should have picked a further site.

Great campsite!

We had a great campsite that was in the corner. We had our two dogs who normally bark when people walk past but the site was secluded with good tree coverage that we didn’t have any issues! We drove across the highway and got some good hiking in. Really great views!

Bluffs and Highway

I camped here last summer and wasn't impressed at how close the camp sites were. We camped in a tent and there were several RV's nearby. Additionally when we went to hike around the area we couldn't seem to escape the sounds of the nearby highway. Aside from that the bluffs were beautiful and really fun to climb!
