Perfect Pit Stop

This wonderful camp sight is the perfect pit stop off of US-2 with beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls. It is clean and well taken care of making it the perfect place to stop.

Cute campground with very pretty trails

Although we didn't actually stay at this campground, we drove through and I thought I'd give it a review based on my impressions. Had we known it was here, we might have actually booked a night.

It's not a giant campground, but there was enough space this time of year to accommodate any passerby. each campsite appeared to have a fire ring with a great for grilling, a picnic table, and space for a camper or a tent. There was no electric, but it looked like you could park a small RV or pop-up camper without a problem. There are no showers, but they do have vault toilets. And very close by, there's some beautiful hiking trails! One of them you cross has a very old bridge that is just gorgeous! It's a wooden bridge with a very unique suspension that crosses over the water that creates Amnicon Falls. This time of year, after all the rain, it was flowing like mad and beautiful!

Since I didn't stay, I can't speak for the noise level in the campground. But since we were traveling in October, there wasn't a campground we stayed in that seem to be full of people. Most everything was quiet this time of year.

side note, you do need a park pass in order to stay at the campground. So in addition to the camping fee, you need a park sticker that's available at a self-serve machine when you come in. Out of state residents paid $11 for the park sticker, and $20 for a campsite. In-state residents paid $15 for the campground and I'm not certain how much for a sticker. it did not, however, seem that camping fees went up much past $25, even in the peak of the summer. They are open all year round, but it's still $15 to $20 in the winter time.

Adult & Kid Fun

A beautiful, smaller park. We tent camped with our littles (2 & under) & they had a blast walking & sitting in the water near the Falls. There are countless locations on the Falls for your family to get cozy & enjoy the water in & out. Check out campsites 16&17 if available, private & short walk to sites. Overall all sites seemed to be a great size with most having decent privacy. Clean park & friendly staff.

One of our Favorites!

We have camped here more than any other park! The chain of waterfalls are unlike any other park in the area because you can swim in almost all of them, the snake pit is a thrill for jumping off into the iron rich water (don’t be put off by the water color it’s natural and safe!)

Way up there

Lots of walks and hikes directly from the campsite. The waterfalls are incredible. Overall clean area with very little litter. Bathrooms were meticulously clean for vault toilets. There was water but no sinks. The sites vary, but there are some larger ones with privacy. We wanted to stay two nights and could only register for one night in person although our site # was available for the next 3 nights. Meanwhile someone reserved it the next day so we just left rather than move down one.

Beautiful ......

What a scenic and gorgeous park. The falls and bridge are awesome. The campground is very nice but a bit crowded and noisy from nearby hwy 53. Otherwise a very relaxing and clean campground with friendly staff.

Amnicon Falls

Amnicon Falls State Park is a great place to get away for the weekend! The park has several gorgeous waterfalls and the copper color of the rocks and water makes for a unique experience!

Quiet(ish?) Camping

Quiet fairly private campsites. We were there early in the season, so not a whole lot of people; so it may be different during busy season. Campsites are decent sized and not far from many trails to hike.

Enjoyed our stay

love hiking and discovering waterfalls, big and small! clean campground, shaded spots available, so beautiful!

Beautiful falls and hiking!

Amincon is a hiking and photography dream. The staff at Amnicon are over the top friendly and helpful. Enjoy private feeling camp sites. I tent camp and I’m thankful that I have 10” steel stakes and a 2.5lb sledge hammer because the ground is very rocky. The sites are very clean and quite. Enjoy a short walk from the camping sites to the water and hiking trails. Bring your camera for sure! Don’t miss this Northern Wisconsin park just Southeast of Duluth Minnesota.
