Nicer side of rustic camping on a Great Lake with a paved bike route

This is a nice campground located in a nice place that isn’t too rustic. Lots of sites in this large campground too. The road in is paved and yet nicely wooded. It feels like a more upscale location than some other more remote campgrounds. Once in there are a variety of sites to choose from.…

Camp along the river - with horses

This campground is closed for 2021. However we didn’t know beforehand and are glad we checked it out. Right by camp entrance is a historic covered bridge. We weren’t the only o es stopping to see it today.

We walked in to see the campground. Vault toilets, water and garbage are there. It hasn’t…

Great time

Campground was full all weekend. We stayed 4 nights. Decent bathrooms. Nice little beach area. Good hiking/walking trails. Quiet. Sites were spaced nicely.

Family friendly

My family, along with a couple other families, used to camp here for a week every year when we were kids. There are 2 beaches, trails, beautiful wooded sites, and the lakes water is as clear as advertised. You will need to reserve your site 11 months in advance because it fills up fast. If you have…

Great Family Atmosphere

We enjoyed the amenities and activities this campground had to offer. Clean bathrooms and laundry room. Great activities for kids…fishing presentation, movie, kickball. The site was full sun which got hot. There were shaded sites, but we couldn’t get sites together in the woods to be close to…

Nice campground

Campground has 10 sites for $30 a day, all with electricity and water. There is a dump station nearby behind the city garage for $10. There are vault toilets with free showers. The sites have immediate access to the river for fishing. There is a beach, two sand volleyball courts, boat launch, and…

We ended up camping here after finding out the last site at Council Grounds was taken by the time we got there(we did call before we left). There were maybe only 1-2 other camp sites taken when we arrived and they were on the other end so nice and quiet. My kids and husband loved the campground.…

Overall great with all amenties.

We love this as a “go to” place for family. The lake location is perfect with both sunsets and coves. There are cabins as well as a few tent/rv campsites and a wonderful bar/restaurant on site. You can boat to a number of other bars and restaurants as well. The only negatives are that it is a bit…

Nice and quiet

Nice and quiet campground, little cool for weather while we were there but so peaceful. Linda was so nice in the office and really helpful, purchased firewood and so nice that they delivered. Would recommend and will stay again. Thanks for the wonderful week.

Great Campground with Great Service

We stayed in a rental trailer here and were very impressed! There is a good mix of open and wooded sites. The weekends it gets busy, but the sites are for the most part spaced well enough apart that you don’t feel packed in. The owners/management were very friendly and responsive to all of our…

What a gorgeous state park! From the moment you enter, you are in awe of the landscape. Trees tower above you as you drive through the park. For this particular trip, we reserved group sites A and B. They each have concrete pads for 3 campers and TONS of space to spread out and/or set up tents.…

Great owners

We called in a rush at 830PM during the week and the sweet owners told us to come on over! The campground was full of kids roaming everywhere but it was still very clean and quiet. We were in a nice spot away from the action but loved their nice playground and pool. As a bonus, they were very…

Basic State Forest Campground

Have stayed here two or three times. Pretty quiet except for the boaters coming in and out in the morning and evening. Just your basic campground with pit toilets and pump water. Firewood available for $5 or $6 when I was there. Sites that I stayed in seem to have good amount of vegetation in…
