Rustic spot on a peaceful lake

We pulled into the cabin area by accident. The road in was beautiful. It has a parking area and then the cabins are spaced out. We fixed our error and headed to the campground.

The campground is along the lake. You can choose a spot lakeside or more wooded. Some sites are reservable and others are first come first serve. We found openings early on a Friday afternoon. There are vault toilets and water available.

Pro tip: drive down the road to Chipmunk Rapids Campground and get your water at the artesian well. We got there just before the rush of other campers from Lost Lake.

Rustic area with beautiful lake access.

This is a nice campground on a clean lake perfect for swimming. Rustic without water or electricity. Vaulted toilets (4). This was our first time camping here but we definitely plan on going back. The sites are large and a few have lake shore access perfect for non-motorized boating/kayaking. The only thing that could've been better is the amount of privacy between sites.

The definition of rural Wisconsin

The campground is very rural, the closest town being Florence which is 20 miles away. It is right off of lost lake which is a small lake that can swim in, small boating, fishing. A hiking trail backs up to the campground! A water spring is located about a mile down the road along with the pine river which is prime for trout fishing. Very beautiful area!
