Best RV Parks & Resorts near Rockport, WA

This is the very first park I took my motorhome to.  After spending a year getting the rig ready, I was finally ready to take it on the road.  I had joined Thousand Trails earlier in the year and set off to see what I knew.  While I had previous RVs before (5th Wheel, Class C's, Travel trailers) this was my trip in a Class A.

My first visit to the Thousand Trails La Conner site was great.  I was able to find a nice full hook up site at the edge of the park very close to the water.

A couple more visits to the park in the following months gave a less than great experience but still good.

Last week turned a corner.  While the staff is still five star level, the park is showing a lot of wear and tear.  I counted more than a dozen closed sites.  Some of these sites had been closed for a long time.  Potholes and ruts in the road made travel unpleasant but the pools of water (and mud) really stood out.

Granted, I was there in February but these issues were not just seasonal.  Some of the same sites had been closed for the past few visits to the park.  

I hope they start to pay attention to this park because its location is great.

I love thousand trails, we decided last minute to get out of the house and away for the weekend and spend some time outdoors. We didn’t spend a lot of time packing diligently for camping, but anything we forgot we didn’t notice. Thousand trails has everything that we may have left behind, very convenient to pick up from on-site store. There were plenty of outdoor activities to keep the dogs and kiddos entertained. Will definitely be going back soon before the weather gets cold.

This is a Thousand Trails facility. Lots of spaces but not many with sewer. It’s first come and you pick a empty spot. If you can find one. Only a few have water views. I forgot a couple of things so was really happy the store was open. I saw the hot tub and mini golf. There was a large open grassy area to play . Everyone was pretty nice.

A new and clean RV resort about 1 hour from Seattle.

Big shower spaces for free.

Coffee and cafe on side.

Gas stations and McDonalds next to the resort 1 mile from town of Sultan

This is my first time using a thousand trails membership so I didn’t know what to expect. The overall campground is nice with almost all of the sites being surrounded by trees or a view of the bay. But it was disappointing to find that the few sites that have a sewer connection were all taken and no way to know this in advance. The Wi-Fi they have is only at the recreation building so that amenity should not have been listed on their website.  About 20% of the campsites were being occupied by people who seem to be living there year-round with questionable RVs and lots of junk around their site. This diminished the overall nice setting of the campground.

Nice park little tight but relatively nice spots. Limited full hook ups. Beautiful views of bay.

Campground located on the ocean. Some full hook ups, cabins, club house. Most sites treed although an area of parking lot type spots as well.

Staff was very friendly. We stayed in the overflow site directly next to the office with 20 amp electric only. Campground is well-maintained and very clean. Sites are a little close together, but you do have some green space with a picnic table at each site. Each site is full hook up with water, electric and sewer, and there is not a separate dump station. There are some permanent residents throughout the campground.

Nice location conveniently located near the Marina, close to everything.

Premium sites are double wide and have a spot to park your RV AND Vehicle. Discount for Good Sam Club members.

All sites have Full Hookups, Picnic table & a minor grassed Area.

We stayed in a Premium site, enjoyed the view of the Fields behind us. Extremely quiet, open, not dusty. Downside, people don’t pick up after their Pets. We have two Shelties & think of others so we’re not the Culprits…

Otherwise, pleasant overall. Laundry accepts cards only which is extremely convenient since coins are hard to come by.

5G t-Mobile is 5-stars at our Site, it’s not listed as an option yet.

RV Park for all size trailers, Class A and Class C motor homes. Restrooms, showers, Office, near a small gas station called The Lake Goodwin Store and a Restaurant Pub called The Paddle Pub that has a Cafe next door which sells espresso, icecream and pastries.

We spent 4 nights here as a jumping-off point to explore Whidbey Island and a day trip to visit Orcas Island. We were leery of bringing our trailer onto the ferry for the first time, so we took the driving route via Deception Pass. The location is fantastic for access To Oak Harbor, Anacortes and Deception Pass State Park. We spent the weekend here with my sister and her family who rented one of the cabins at the RV Park.

The cabin was very simple, clean and had a well-stocked kitchen. They enjoyed their stay and it was a convenient way for all of us to spend more time together. We were in RV spot C-22 and it was quite a tight and unlevel location. The pavement on the grounds is not in great condition with lots of bumps and ditches, but we were able to finagle our trailer to a stable spot. Your neighbors are very close but the grounds are very quiet. The staff is immensely helpful and friendly. Our water spigot was leaking badly when we arrived and they had repaired it by the next morning.

The grounds aren’t ideal but the location to exploring Whidbey is well worth it. You are steps from the entry of Deception Pass State Park to find tons of hiking but if you venture right (directionally) out of the driveway from the RV Park, you’ll find the Cornet Bay side of the state park that offers quieter, lesser crowded trails and a different view of the bridge. I spent my evenings running through this side of the park and it was lovely with lots of wildlife and nearly complete solitude. Also, make sure you get to Greenbank Farms for some local cheeses and Whidbey Pies because nothing says post-hike refuel like Loganberry pie.

Some of the sites are close together (for a WA state park) but the sites are still private by normal RV park standards. The location is excellent and the rangers are nice. Site 24 is private and nice. The only caveat is that the fire pit and picnic table are on the hookup side of the slot. We would stay here (and in this slot) in a heartbeat.

The location and address is not a real rv park.

If you're looking for a pass through RV park, skip this one. You'll regret your visit and just certainly leave frustrated. Security is non existent and this is more of a transient and full time resident hang out.

This RV Park is good enough to get away from your home and maybe for a weekend staycation. You’re still in the city but still away from home and still have a pretty good view of the water from the park.

Great park with lots of activities and a variety of spaces to explore. Love the open fields and walking trails with possibility of seeing elk.

Only downfall is the rv spaces; they are a little challenging to level in some back in sights.
