Emporia KOA Holiday

About

Emporia KOA Holiday, nestled near Emporia, VA, is a solid spot for those looking to break up a long drive or enjoy a family-friendly camping experience. This campground offers a mix of tent, RV, and cabin accommodations, making it versatile for different camping preferences.

One of the standout features here is the full hook-up sites, which many visitors appreciate for their convenience. The campground is big-rig friendly, so you won't have to worry about maneuvering larger RVs. Plus, it's open year-round, which is a big plus for those traveling outside the typical camping season.

Families will find plenty to keep the kids entertained. There's a pool, a playground, and even a market on-site. Pets are welcome too, so you don't have to leave your furry friends behind. The campground also allows alcohol and fires, so you can enjoy a relaxed evening by the campfire with a drink in hand.

The campground is well-maintained, with clean showers and toilets, and there's a sanitary dump station for RVs. If you need to stock up on essentials, the market has you covered. And for those who like to stay connected, WiFi is available, although some visitors have noted it can be spotty at times.

The surrounding area offers some interesting activities as well. While the campground itself is more of a stopover spot than a destination, it's close to I-95, making it a convenient place to rest during a road trip. The forested setting provides a nice backdrop, and there are plenty of grassy areas for kids to play.

Overall, Emporia KOA Holiday is a reliable choice for a comfortable and convenient camping experience, especially for families and those passing through on longer journeys.

Great stop on way to Florida

Just passing through and nice place to pull in with our trailer and stay hitched. Wish the site was more level but a couple leveling blocks fixed it. Nice that they are open year round.

Good for one night

The park was adequate for a one night stay for sleeping purposes but it is not a “destination.” Pool was cloudy/greenish and WiFi was down. Was pretty vacant. Also there is a freight train that seems to go by all night that woke me up a Few times. Sewer hook up was much higher than ground. Employees were nice.

Good old family fun!

Kids had a blast playing in the water and taking the paddle boats out. Campground was clean, quiet and spacious! We camped in a tent not far from the beach area. The water park/pool wasn’t open due to COVID-19 but the kids were happy with the beach. There was a dance party with yogi and his friends and our kids enjoyed that. We also painted some figurines in the arts and crafts area. Overall great experience!

Great Time, and Great Service

This was my first trip in my new travel trailer. What a great experience. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Sites were well organized and easy to access. The pull through spot really helped on my first adventure. Hook ups were clean, and easily accessible. I have no complaints or gripes with this locations. Highly recommend.

A good place to stop near I-95

We stayed here recently while visiting friends in the area and this purpose it worked well. Plenty of grassy area. A family oriented campground with plenty of amenities to keep children entertained.

Full hook ups and well maintained.

Lots of Options but pricey and a little overrated.

This campground has some really great camp sites right on the river. It has a waterpark, but the chlorine was so strong, our eyes were burning after 10 minutes. The river access was by far it's best feature. They also hold theme nights and small concerts. We had a nice stay, but definitely wouldn't pay the high price again.
