Not bad

The campsites are extremely close together so there is no privacy at all. Also in shower house the lights are motioned sensored which are super inconvenient when you're the only one in there and it cuts off 2 or 3 times while your showering and you have to carefully walk in the dark to the middle…

Peaceful remote camping

Unexpectedly found this site after planning on doing some primitive camping off the road. There's 2 sites that I saw on the road with pits.

There's access to the App Trail on the road so you might see some hikers but it was real quiet otherwise. Pretty nice scenery (you're smack in the middle of…

Large, shaded sites- the pros end there

The shaded spots were a good size and pretty secluded. That’s all the good I can say. The map makes it look like you have water access from the campsite- you don’t. You have to drive to the public beach across the state park. The map of the park is very confusing and we drove by our site at least…

Great off grid site

Clean. Sites along stream. Pit toilets. Old CCC camp from 1930s. No cell at all. Primitive.

Well run

This is a good campground for a short stay. The sites are small and close to each other, but well maintained. The bath/shower/Laundry facility was very clean and fairly new. The utilities were great. There is a small swimming pool that the kids were enjoying, a short trail, and chickens all over.…

Didn’t Stay

Very crowded with full timers. No service and not many spaces. If you travel up the mountain you can find some primitive spots if that’s more up your alley.

Nice area, difficult to put in trailer.

This park was well maintained, as most state parks have been.  However, the sites were a good size but were very difficult to get even a small trailer into the site due to the narrow roads.  We were tent camping, in the beginning of May, and the weather was cold and wet.  The swimming area was nice…

Nice boondock in a lovely location

Hosts were friendly and attentive. Site was spacious and pleasantly situated for our 17' travel trailer. Clean bathrooms and shower. Lots of poison ivy and amazing wildflowers on the 4-5 mile loop trail that started near the back of the campground.

It’s ok, nothing fancy

Nice swim area, nice roads but the sites could use some updating. A lot of them are sloped. Very hard to level out a RV. Playground could use updating and maybe a fence around since it’s so close to the road. Bathrooms need updating.

One of our Favorites

We love camping at Holliday Lake. It is completely off grid, and we like that! With busy jobs during the week it’s nice to unwind and enjoy nature. We hike, fish, swim, kayak, rent a motor boat, and just relax at our campsite. We watched a Bald Eagle and an Osprey for over an hour while kayaking…

Hard to beat free

This campground being only about 25 miles from home has been one we’ve used several times over the years. It has seen increasing use the last few years and does seem to attract a wide range of people, including some regulars whose rigs more or less stay all summer. Free boondocking places east of…

OK For Just an Overnighter

We were here in mid Sept and in site 15. It was a very small site with a half deck. If we had camper with slide, we would not have been able to use our slide in this site. The private shower rooms are nice and clean. The roads are rough dirt and gravel and not conducive to bike riding. They do…
