Absolutely amazing campground. I almost hate to write a review of this very special place, because it will attract others and make it harder to get reservations in the future. We spent the past few days in Crumpler, NC at Twin Rivers Campground. We found this campground by pure luck. Our site…
Perfectly located to bag 5000 footers (including Mt. Rogers) and for hiking in the high country! The campground hosts were awesome and the services were great.
We had two issues you should be aware of...
Issue 1: the wells were pretty dry so we had no water hook up, no hot showers, and…

It’s a short hike up from Carver Gap. There are several spots on the bald to pitch your tent. There are not too many spots to gather firewood. A few sites already have rock pits made for you. Super windy so dress appropriately!
Beautiful 6000’ bald off the AT and along the state line between North Carolina and Tennessee, plenty of places to pitch a tent. Firewood is scarce so bring a lantern and cook stove.
Management/owner very accommodating. Very short stay for us, just passing through. Quiet campground.
I don't live far from this place. It's a nice quick weekend getaway. The bathrooms are the cleanest I've ever seen, you're close to town, and have a beautiful river that runs right by the campground. There's a great walking trail that runs right by.

Very nice, but small sites. Full hookups and wifi at a state park, which is nice. Historic area with demonstrations and visitor center. Beautiful hiking trail by the river and riverside sites
The staff is great, all public areas are clean and organized. The facilities are nice, but you might want to look at your site first if you can. There are some places that big rigs will not fit into, and some you won't be able to get to. Some of the sites, the picnic table, fire pit, and grill…
We visited in April. Beautiful days hiking nearby, cold nights. Pet friendly. Pretty clean bath house. Visitors center nearby. Sites were mostly level, with gravel, fire pit, picnic table. Some were classically wooded, shady and some in the bright sun. Cute small town nearby.
A few sites have electric hookup, but not all. You can tell that at one time there was a playground but it has been removed. Decent bathhouse.
For us it was perfect. Lovely trails, clean facilities, the on site host was awesome very helpful. Our site #44 was perfectly leveled park was well kept. There is a Walmart location that's not far away driving distance cute little ice cream shop and a few other local places.

Family-friendly campground with plenty of fun activities for kids. Playground, fishing pond, disc golf, recreation and game area, and ice cream trailer. Our site was nicely shaded and fairly level. Fire pit and picnic table at each site. There appears to be a lot of long-term residents but all…
Very peaceful, not at all crowded, small campground. There's only 18 sites and they're spread out. There is electric hookups but not water. There is a dump station too.
We are currently camping for 5 nights here. Booked our campsite a day in advance; I think we got lucky with a cancellation. We are here during a lot of rain from Ida but it's so beautiful and peaceful.
On a non rainy day, we did 5 hikes to explore the mountain. On a rainy day, we went to Miller…
This is a really chill spot near Boone. We stayed in one of the tipis, and it was an awesome glamping experience
The bathrooms were clean.
Everyone staying here was really nice and chill. It feels a little hippie which is neat.
If you’re pulling a camper, the road would be a little rough, but…
