Trails End is a boat-in campsite along the Green River, located about 3 miles below Little Hole Boat Ramp at an approximate elevation of 6,000 feet. The Green River provides spectacular fishing and river-running opportunities, as well as unique geology, outlaw history and Native American rock art. Natural Features: The campground is situated alongside the beautiful Green River in an area typical of a high desert environment. Shady juniper, cottonwood and ponderosa pine trees forest the riverbank. Summer wildflowers dot the landscape. Recreation: The Green River offers excellent fishing for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. Rafting and kayaking are very popular activities. Facilities: Trails End contains one reservable site equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring with benches, tent pads and a blind for a portable toilet. No potable water is available. Nearby Attractions: Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is known not only for its beautiful red cliffs but also for its world-class fishing. Boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and scuba diving are popular activities on the reservoir. Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam itself; the adjacent visitor center contains area history exhibits. Directions
From Vernal, Utah: Take U.S. Highway 191 north for 45 miles. Cross the Flaming Gorge Dam and turn right on the road leading to upper launch site at Spillway Boat Ramp. From Rock Springs, Wyoming: Take U.S. Highway 191 south for 63 miles. Just before crossing the dam, turn left on the road to Spillway Boat Ramp, or at the town of Dutch John, turn left off Highway 191 and go east on Little Hole Road about 6 miles to Little Hole Boat Ramp. To Launch from Little Hole Boat Ramp(7 miles downriver from the Spillway Boat Ramp). Turn off of Highway 191 at the town of Dutch John on “Little Hole Road.” The campsite is 10 miles below Spillway Boat Ramp and 2.8 miles below Little Hole.
