Large Dispersed Campsite off BLM 0151 on E Pleasant Creek Diversion Rd/Notom Rd

Off the Notom Road southeast of Capitol Reef National Park, this Bureau of Land Management dispersed site sits at 5,530 feet elevation with views extending across desert mountains and terrain. The campground accommodates RVs up to 25 feet, though access requires navigating BLM Road 0151 along the Pleasant Creek Diversion route.

The main camping area provides space for multiple rigs on level, hard-packed ground with a large fire pit as the central gathering point. Scattered trees offer some natural spacing between sites. DL M. found the site "clean" with "nicely spaced trees," though noted the complete absence of cell service. Beyond the primary site, the road continues to smaller spots better suited for tents and compact campers.

Campers should watch for small cacti throughout the area, particularly those traveling with dogs. The location puts visitors within five minutes of Capitol Reef and close to attractions like Bentonite Hills. For those wanting additional options in the region, campgrounds around Torrey provide alternatives with different amenities and access conditions.

Campers regularly cited panoramic mountain views and clean, spacious sites that accommodate large RVs. Located just 5 minutes from Capitol Reef, though no cell service at 5,530 ft elevation.

Dry desert area with a lot of little cactus

The first site is fabulous large enough for 3 big rigs, flat hard ground and a big fire pit, after that only suitable for tents or smaller campers, I only went down about 3 miles until I found a plane to get turned around. Not ideal is you let dogs roam as there a lot of small cactus everywhere.

Sitedid not stay, only suitable site was taken

5 Min from Capitol Reef!

We really enjoyed our 2-night stay here and would definitely come back again. The campground is just 5 minutes from Capitol Reef and close to other amazing attractions like Bentonite Hill. We camped comfortably in our 32-foot travel trailer with an easy drive in and out. A great spot for anyone exploring the area!
