Awesome

Used this app to find this place. There are multiple sites across the dry river bed but you can’t cross the dry river bed without a Hardy vehicle. There’s one main site before the river bed where we camped. So great to have all that room to yourself.

Super Spot

I’ve spent a long time thinking about whether or not to post this because it was such a good spot and I’m not sure I want others knowing about it, but it is a killer. There’s really only room for one primary camping unit but vans and cars are welcome to park in the small parking lot at the entrance. If you absolutely needed to you can drive your car further back into the space or even walk in further away. Use by RVs and huge rigs is discouraged. All of this information is also publicized to read in the parking lot on a kiosk. My partner and I managed to swing this site three nights in a row without running into other campers (we were taking down camp each morning so our stuff didn’t end up stolen or damaged). A few vans stayed in the parking lot and another car even ventured further off into the shrubs to find their own space. On the fourth night, someone with an RV finally beat us to it. On that night we drove a few more miles to the East and found another good site a little ways further away from the road that I do not believe is on this app. Great views, few bugs in late April, great access to the park. Had a really good time here. In response to the other review about the cows: we did not see any cows but there was lots of older cow pies around the site. None too close to the actual site. Last photo is from the site just down the road.
