Jug Hollow Road is the primary route into Green River Peninsula Camp, and it demands serious consideration before committing. One camper with a 40-foot toy hauler reported extended washboard sections, deep ruts, a long washed-out stretch, and a narrow roadbed with no room to pass oncoming traffic. The descent from Route 191 adds a 9% grade over roughly 2.5 miles. Road conditions aside, the site sits within campsites around Ashley National Forest, with direct water access supporting fishing, kayaking, and OHV use. Campfires, pets, alcohol, and big rigs are all permitted, and cell service is available. This dispersed site makes the most sense for campers who can honestly assess their vehicle's clearance and towing limits before heading out.
