High clearance and four-wheel drive are effectively required; two-wheel drive vehicles, RVs, and travel trailers should not attempt the road. A handful of free dispersed sites sit in pine trees within the first 0.1 mile, with additional spots higher up the ridge. Cell signal is reported as good. Campers who can handle the approach will find dispersed sites near Ashley National Forest worth considering as a base for exploring the Flaming Gorge area.
