Scattered dispersed camping areas surround a small fishing lake at 8,200 feet elevation in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. The site provides a single vault toilet but no water, tables, or dumpsters, requiring campers to bring all supplies and pack out trash. Paved roads lead to the toilet facility, though individual camping spots may involve rough, rocky, or clay access roads that could become muddy when wet.
The fenced lake offers fishing opportunities while views extend north toward the La Sal Mountains and south into Canyonlands. Some sites accommodate big rigs despite challenging access routes. Cell service varies by camping location. For additional options, campers can explore campgrounds near Monticello or check nearby Monticello Lake. This setup works best for self-sufficient campers comfortable with dispersed camping conditions and variable road surfaces.
