Big Mesa Area

Accessible via dirt roads, Big Mesa Area provides primitive dispersed camping on Bureau of Land Management land with campfires and alcohol permitted. The no-pets restriction makes this spot distinct from many nearby BLM sites. Campers set up among scattered trees that provide some shade during warmer months.

Steve J. noted the valley views and natural rock cliff formations visible from camping spots, with the Navajo Rocks Trail located about a mile from the area. Several other dispersed options exist within a mile, including Lone Mesa Dispersed Camping for those traveling with pets.

Great view, isolated, and biking close by.

Primitive camping at its best with great views of the valley and natural rock cliffs. The Navajo rocks Trail is only about a mile away camping has trees and shade and the temperature is perfect in late spring and early fall.
