Oak Forest RV Resort

Reservations are available year-round at Oak Forest RV Resort, which accommodates rigs up to 75 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer. The park sits within a forested setting that provides meaningful shade, something reviewers consistently note. Sites are level and reasonably spaced, with the newer section near the office generally drawing more favorable comments for spacing and access to facilities.

The park divides into two distinct sections: an older area housing long-term and permanent residents, and a newer section closer to the welcome office that tends to work best for short-term visitors. Common areas include fire pits, grills, hammock areas, two dog parks, and a covered community pavilion with ceiling fans, which becomes a practical gathering point during hot Texas afternoons. A coffee truck operates on-site near the welcome office, closed on Tuesdays. "Five star private bathrooms, pool areas are clean and well kept," notes Brenda M., though cleanliness reviews are not unanimous and at least one recent visitor found the restrooms below expectations.

WiFi is a recurring concern. Long-term residents have access to fiber, but short-term campers report unreliable connectivity, particularly during peak hours. Cell signal reviews are mixed. The laundry facilities have received complaints about non-functioning machines, and campers in the back of the park should be aware that restrooms and laundry are located only near the front entrance. Trash management has also been flagged during high-occupancy periods.

A nearby bike trail provides access to the Lady Bird Lake path, a 10-mile route that runs through the city. The proximity to downtown Austin makes this a practical base for urban exploration. Austin East KOA is about 1.5 miles east for campers comparing options in the area. Those researching campsites near Austin will find Oak Forest among the more full-featured RV-focused choices in the region.

Ferman S. stayed nearly two years and summarizes it as "clean bathrooms, clean laundry room," with responsive management on maintenance issues. This resort makes the most sense for RV travelers who want full hookups, forested shade, and straightforward access to Austin without roughing it.

Great Spot for Long or Short Stays!

My recent experience at Oak Forest RV Park near Austin, Texas, definitely warrants a strong four-star rating. It strikes a fantastic balance between accommodating long-term residents and welcoming short-term visitors. Site and Amenities ragdoll hit The park offers a versatile mix of options—from standard RV sites to cozy cabins and yurts—which is a huge plus for families traveling together with varied needs. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and feels genuinely geared towards enjoying the Texas outdoors. The community covered area(as seen in the provided photo) is a major highlight. It’s clean, spacious, and clearly well-maintained. The large ceiling fans are essential for those hot Texas afternoons, and the string lighting creates a welcoming, relaxed mood in the evening. The availability of clean, dedicated restroom/shower facilities and a vending/ice machine in this central spot makes it a perfect hub for socializing or just relaxing away from your site. Why Not Five Stars? While the park is excellent, the sites themselves could use some minor paving updates or better shading in certain areas. Also, Wi-Fi connectivity was adequate but sometimes struggled during peak hours—a common issue, but one that could be improved. Summary If you are looking for a reliable, clean, and community-oriented place near Austin with excellent core amenities and flexible stay options, Oak Forest RV Park is a top choice. Highly recommended for both short overnight stops and extended stays.

Overall positive

Spots are nice and level. Fairly well spaced. The amenities are wanting. Many of the laundry machines do not work. One the map it shows a whole building that isn't there that is supposed to have bathrooms and laundry. The only facilities are at the front of the park. So, if you are in the back there are no facilities.

Traveling tech/ OR Nurse/ Nurse

This is a great place to stay. All hook ups. Great communication by email to all tenants. Clean bathrooms, clean laundry room. So close to downtown Austin. Stayed here for almost two years on a contract and I honestly didn’t have any issues nor problems other than slow internet or no internet but they resolved the issues I had in a timely manner. I’d definitely will come back here and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an RV park close to Austin.

BEAUTIFUL and peaceful RV Park

We’ve had such an amazing time here. There’s multiple dog parks, hammock areas, common areas with fire pits and grills, gardens for the community, and a incredible coffee truck over by the welcome office (closed on Tuesdays). Beautiful and loving community of temporary and long term RVers. 10/10 for Austin

Nice resort close to downtown Austin

Spent 3 nights while we toured Austin. We had a pull through site close to pool and bathhouse. Small fitness center which I used. Laundry room clean. Biked around Lady Bird Lake- nice 10 mile path that goes by city. Took great tour of where Austin City limits is filmed and tour of capital. Highly recommend.

RVs and tiny homes

RV Park is very well kept. Nice neighbors too. Heated pool/hot tub look nice. Laundry facilities on-site are credit card operated. Landscape company works here once weekly. High volume of guests really require more than once per week trash removal...piles of trash near dumpster overflowing weekly along with recycles. We're here, unfortunately, for 3+ months due to medical necessity. Nearby bike trail has been our saving grace since we'd prefer a state or national park setting. We experienced the Austin winter storm 2021 and although we were without water hookup for 1 week we never lost power.
