Stop over haven

This is a nice place to linger while driving through Texas. While windy, it was pleasant.

The owners are very particular about things and have $50 fines for parking on the grass, leaving masks on the ground, not picking up after your per etc. Even after the threats, we still enjoyed our stay.…

Beyond friendly and welcoming

It used to be an old KOA, but it’s super nice & clean & friendly. it looks like there are people that live there or stay there for awhile, but it doesn’t bother me. Everything seemed clean. I showed up to after hours checkin & the fact there was spots on a map marked that was open, was…

Beautiful setting, ton of fun!!

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We played on the snd dunes all day and camped. The campsites were sand with a covered picnic table and grill. The picnic table was moved because storms were coming and we put tents under pavilion. It would have been perfect for stargazing if it had…

Great park !

After traveling 11 hours to pick up our new camper , we are very happy we chose hilltop to be our very first RV Park on our way home . Owners have a great sense of humor & very welcoming. The pool & restrooms were very clean , & we enjoyed it a lot . We will definitely be back !

Looks rough but friendly

Park itself looks a little rough, and is close to the highway and railroad. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Maintenence helped my partner with our tail lights and refused pay. $40 for a pull through and full hookups. Cheap laundry.

Clean, convenient stopover

Probably one of the better options for stopping over on your way through Texas. It’s a clean, well-maintained pile of dirt with good hookups and long sites. Felt very clean and very safe.

Close to Walmart, gas, etc though for the price if you’re only killing one night it might be worth just…

Easy Access and simplicity in Fort Stockton

This site is just next door to Hilltop RV Park... similar name but very different parks. This spot does not have the amenities or the views of Hilltop (alas, they are on the side of the hill as the name implies, not atop the hill). Though it is more bare bones, the essentials are there -- reliable…

Nice park. Easy access to I-10

Former KOA with friendly staff. Has a pool and a huge dog park. Kids park is sub par. Close to I-10 so there is freeway noise. We would definitely stay here again for a one night stop.

Nice stay atop the hill

I typically rate campgrounds as they fit into 1 of 5 categories. This campground will be rated as an “along the way” stay — grounds that you seek out for a night or two as a place to simply stay the night along your journey to regroup and get some sleep. Ratings for this category are based…

Perfect Stop Along I-10

We stopped at Fort Stockton on our way West through Texas and we loved our stay. Easy hookups, late check-in available and efficient, quiet park, and a lovely place to spend the night. Woke up to bird sounds and owls with a lovely sunrise over the hills in West Texas.

Also easy to navigate to as…

Windiest Place on Earth

We had been to this place a few times. They are very nice, clean facility, and when there is not COVID the restaurant is great. This is right off the highway an easy off and on. Few miles from any sort of stores which is also kind of nice. They have a great dog park.

The reason for the 3 stars is…

Deserves 5 stars but dog breed restricted

Well kept, quiet campground. Very close to freeway but if the drone of traffic puts you to sleep, it's a good spot for the night. Good wifi. No rottweiler or pitbull breeds.

FANTASTIC place to stop

If you RV enough, you will run into these places. The staff HATE travelers, and they hate their job. Fort Stockton RV is NOT one of these places!!! From the first contact with office staff while making reservations, to the check in, to the Maintance guy (Joe) stopping by. This place ROCKS! …

Roadrunner Cafe

Just to recommend the Roadrunner Cafe at Fort Stockton RV Park. We got the chicken fried steak and eggs with grits and toast, to go, they are fast service yet very tasty and hot. Which is extremely convenient for us folks passing through that don't want the mess of cleaning up after breakfast.…
