What a neat place!! The staff is great! The Rangers are friendly and helpful! The sites are pretty darn level and well spaced apart.(there might be an occasional Bison dropping in the way, but hey, I can deal with that!!) It is very clean and well maintained. It is well out of town, very peaceful.…

Woke to bison wandering through our campsite. It was really amazing site.
We went to visit this park with low expectations and were pleasantly surprised. Lots of outstanding sites. Only $12 a night to camp with no facilities. It was quite pricey for gas and electric sites, about $40 a night. Only one shower house but it has been recently renovated. The nice thing about…
Woke up to the Buffalo licking my tent, awesome experience. Coyotes yip at night, stars are beautiful. Showed up late and was able to set up camp and pay the next morning. Prettiest campgrounds ever
Highs include beautiful views, great wildlife, shelters over the tables, big sites, and quiet environment. Lows include heavy wind, heat, and mainly no water due to a boil water notice that meant no showers and overall safety concern.
This campground is absolutely beautiful, and was excruciatingly hot. Given I was there one of the warmest days of the year. But no breeze, little shade.
The views are amazing and it's easy to get checked in. My dog loved hiking early hours when the sun just peeked up. Tons of views and…
My family stayed in the Caprock Canyon state park Honey Flats loop. Stunning views of the canyon are within a short walk from the campground. The paved pad at our site was level, and there was also a sheltered picnic table at the site. All sites were very spacious and felt private. A herd of bison…
Very helpful staff at bait shop..electric is 50 amp offered a loaner dog bone for the nite...clean quiet campground...only two other sites were in use...beautiful scenery and sunrise was spectacular. Would definitely stay again..
One would think with free 30 & 50 amp and water hook up it should be a five star. Problem is your so close to the road theirs a lot of traffic noise. Not only that, the building in the park which host the sites is also used as a activity center which is busy during the day. Theirs trash…
Very much improved camping facilities since we were there last. The lake is very low but if you just want a solitude getaway...this is a great place. At the Marina, Cody is the best to deal with! She really was helpful!
This damned lake (Army Corps of Engineers) recreation area offers some very inexpensive camping and OHV trail access. When the water is full during the summer, the lake is good for motoring, fishing, and other water sports. We visited during the draw down which offered a lot more beach area, but…

Created by the Red River, Caprock Canyon State Park, lies about 125 miles to the southeast of Palo Duro Canyon. While many similarities exist between the two state parks, the differences are striking. For starters, this park features the remaining heard of Southern Plains Bison (related to the…

Mackenzie has been fairly low key lake to fish and camp.
Usually a pretty quite place, without crowds. Altho this year, alot more people have been camping, and things have been alot busier than normal.
There is a general store for last min items, and live bait with decent outdoor…
