Campsites are a little close together, but well equipped otherwise. Went for The water park, which is a blast, and campsites are within easy walking distance. There are a ton of other activities as well - putt-putt, laser tag, paddle boats, fishing, etc. also had curbside trash pickup which was nice.
Would have been nice if there were some incentives for the water park for campers - early entrance, or discount, but that would be the only thing I would add.
I really don't enjoy myself the police officers are very racist towards minorities and I don't think I could go back not a great place.
Great sites of all sizes. Scenic road that is popular with cyclists connecting Bastrop State Park. Wildflowers were in full bloom, and the small lake is great for fishing. Nice, well maintained trails and Park Rangers were very helpful and courteous.
The only reason I gave it 4stars is because of a lot of street noise outside the park. The park itself is beautiful and quiet. Great bathroom fac; very new and clean. All of the tent sides have sand tent pads, but if you’re a hammock camper be sure the trees fit your kit.
Nice and secluded on a lake. Clean, quiet, and not crowded. Great fishing lake!
Texas State Park with 37 sites. Nestled in a wooden river area with lush vegetation. Several hiking trails that are easy on the joints.
I like off the beaten path places, this sure is one of them! The tent sites are very nice, close to the river & oxbow lake (kayaks for rent!). Very peaceful.
This park is a great place to visit. Really nice trails. Great staff. Spots are really nice, but mostly very short. Our 28' trailer took up most of the space. But, I was able to fit my truck sideways at the end of the driveway.

This is a great campground with lots to do. It is awesome like geometry dash lite. We camped: the camp pitch was fairly level with electric hookup, water supply close to the tent and a fire pit for each pitch. There are also RV hookups as well. My kids totally enjoyed the laser tag, there is also a boating pond, fishing and live music on a Saturday night. The toilet block was the cleanest I have ever seen on a campsite- it was as clean as many hotels I have stayed in. One good advice for anyone staying in a campsite in Texas: compared to campsites in more temperate climes, Texas campsites are dusty and have as much dirt as grass on the pitches(and this site is no exception). Bring a tarp to put under your tent- it will be a lot easier to clean than the bottom of a sewn-in groundsheet when you get home.
The area was quiet, bath house was brand new and very nice! Excellent cell connection and nice shady area.
went there just to hike a little but ended up discovering wildflowers has recently bloomed and greening!! we had to extend our hike just to see more wildflowers and wild raspberries that had grown right by the trail
Stayed here for one night while traveling through. We wish we had a little more time to spend here. It's a large campground, with lots of choices of types of spaces to stay, i.e. by the water under the trees, or in an open area.
We appreciate that it was quiet at night. Customer service was very courteous and friendly.
First time there and was really impressed with this campground. The slots are a great price and big sites, most have a metal pavilion over the picnic table, which was convenient. Sites are very level, wide and deep. All the sites have great views of the lake and even if you aren’t on a lake front, there is plenty of access to the lake all around the grounds. Paved roads which was great for bikes or even electric scooters. Wooded trails and lots of wildlife. Lots of deer all over the grounds in the evening variety of birds. The campground sites on a giant peninsula, which gives so much shoreline, which is managed by the Army Corp. of Engineers, so it’s well maintained and undeveloped. Multiple boat ramps and sites that are on the shoreline, which have a shallow bank, so you can Anchor your boat right off the bank and have walk up access to your campsite and boat. Wild Bills is right across the street, which has all the little things you may have forgot to bring or ability to restock on some beverages and snacks. It’s a 10-15 min bike ride from your campsite or a 5 min drive. Very convenient. Bryan, Tx is only 25 mins away and has a Super Walmart with Curbside service if you need to grab something more specific or a larger grocery order. Quick and easy. College Station was about 45mins away and it’s all easy driving.
It can get pretty windy if you book a slot down lower at the tip of the peninsula, but they will let you swap spaces whenever you want to if there is something available. The campsite up the hill are pretty protected from the wind, so regardless of the wind they have options if it’s more than what you want to deal with. Definitely my place to camp when visiting Somerville. They also let me check-in early when the previous camper left early, so I really appreciated that as well.
The campsite is really nice, the picnic table is brand new. The bath house is as clean as the ours at the house. The grass was cut short and there is no mud. Plenty of shade nice river with a great trail to it. We love this place.
Clean restrooms, clean shower’s, no need for soap because the pressure from the shower head will blast the dirt and stink off your body!! Lots of shade, plenty of hiking trails.
Starlink is pretty quick here and T-Mobile is smoking fast.
Management is kind, courteous, and quick to fix any issues. It’s a hidden gem of Texas to be sure.
The staff is great. The park is very nice. Its newer part has no mature trees or other wind block so it windy alot of the time. Other then that, we enjoyed it very much.
We camped with a travel trailer. The sites were very nice and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great views.
We love it here. Right on the Colorado river plus two ponds to fish in. Lots of places to walk or ride your bikes. Management is very friendly and helpful. Their are also deer everywhere. They have off leash area for fur babies

Friendly and helpful staff. Close to home but still feels like a great escape. Beautiful trees throughout and family friendly. Perfect weather and place.
Clean park. Restrooms rival Buccee's. Friendly, helpful rangers. RV sites clean. Bring levels. City water is safe to drink. Will be a 5 star once dam is complete and lake is refilled.
The sites are very very close to each other. The staff was very helpful. They helped us back in the trailer. The roads are very rough, but that keeps the speeders under control. Site A4 backs up to an open pasture which is nice.
This campground is one of the nicest Thousand Trails Collection campgrounds we have ever stayed at! They have large FHU sites with 30/50amp and beautiful views! The park is currently being completely overhauled with new sites, hook-ups, roads, community center, offices and more. We can’t wait to come back and see it when it’s completed! 👍🏻😬 They have nice amenities such as mini golf, pool, boat launch, pickleball, basketball, trails, etc. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it if you are in the area.
