Big beautiful lake

Fairly spaced out, nice and relaxed. Southern hospitality really played out when some neighbors gave us their extra firewood. Mosquitoes were terrible due to the rain, among the worst I’ve seen as far as mosquitoes go. Well maintained restrooms as well.

One of Our Favorites

We arrived 151 days after making our on-line reservations for the very busy Memorial Day weekend in Piney Shore Loop campground. This was our fourth camping adventure at Lake Livingston State Park in the Piney Shore Loop.

Pros EXTREMELY quiet during the Memorial Day weekend. Even tho not backed…

Beautiful RV resort

Spotlessly clean resort. Shady as well as covered sites. Easy on an off I10. Reasonable rates. Great for overnight stay or as a base for exploring Houston. Would definitely stay here again!

Jurassic like

Site 51 Raven Hill /

We stayed for a total of 3 nights and it was pretty awesome. The site we chose was enough room for my 30 ft camper and mega cab next to it. It was a tight fit but I know next time a 35 ft campsite does not mean you can fit a camper up to 35 ft. It’s total feet including your…

Nice & Quiet

Tent camper, site #30. Deep into the piney woods and swampy outcrops of B.A. Steinhagen lake, I camped under the shade of a huge magnolia tree alongside very tall pines and oaks. Alligators are present all day and night near the water. They aren’t a nuisance. Good utility hookups, nice covered…

Stormy Night in a Historical Park!

Arrived here just before a big thunderstorm rolled in.

But it was super cool to watch as the lights of Houston illuminated the sky across the bay.

Can camp for up to 3 nights maximum with $10 permit from the courthouse down the street.

No utilities, but large open camping area near fishing…

Beautiful find

What a pleasant surprise. This hidden gem is gorgeous. Camped in site 102 along the water. Neat, clean, well-maintained. Staff were very helpful. Wish I could stay longer.

Clean park and friendly staff

What a great park. Judy was a breath of fresh air. Called to let her know we would be arriving late, 9pm. She just so happened to meet us at the gate, and showed us to our site.

We were in the area for family, but we spent time at the pool and hot tub. The property is clean and well maintained. I…

very nice camping spot

I would give it a five but the trails are all closed and some of the sites were flooded .

really secluded spots  easy to get into and camp is under the trees which is a nice touch .

Easy access to Big Thicket, clean, comfortable campground

About 30 mins to Big Thicket visitors center and hike access. There are several nice hikes in the park but many were closed due to a long-leaf pine reforestation project that involved logging and shredding. A bit inconvenient and we could hear the shredders but we met one of the project engineers…

Spacious, wooded site

We camped for 3 nights in March in our travel trailer. The site was large and had a nice concrete pad. We were at site 117 in Pin Oak Loop. Our site was very large and lots of trees but did have some low spots that held water. The bathrooms were decent. The trails were clean and accessed easy…

Clean, Well Maintained with excellent restrooms

This campground is probably one of the best in the area. It's clean, well maintained with excellent restrooms that are well lit and spotless. The boat launch is in great condition with plenty of parking. The camp store is well stocked and operated by the nicest of people. Slushes and Pickles all…
