Falcon State Park Campground

Falcon State Park Campground accommodates RVs up to 58 feet with full hookups across pull-through sites that range from $10-$40 per night. The Texas Parks and Wildlife facility operates year-round with advance reservations available, though some water-only tent sites operate on a first-come basis. Access requires driving into the park along paved roads.

The Cenizo Loop and other camping areas feature covered pavilions at each site, with restrooms and shower facilities positioned throughout the loops. Most sites sit in open terrain with limited natural screening between neighbors. As one camper noted, "The sites are close together and sounds from more than one neighbor were regular." RV pads receive regular maintenance and accommodate various rig sizes, though some sites may require leveling adjustments.

Lake access provides opportunities for fishing and swimming, while demonstration gardens near the camping areas attract birds and butterflies. Cell service varies by location, with T-Mobile showing stronger signals near certain sites, particularly spots 222 and 223 which sit directly across from a Wi-Fi extender. The park maintains clean facilities with hot showers, and camp hosts keep bird feeders stocked for wildlife viewing.

Weekend periods see higher occupancy with family groups, though nights typically remain quiet. For broader camping options in the region, consider campgrounds outside Falcon State Park. Study the site map carefully when booking to match your specific needs for space and amenities.

Campers regularly cited clean facilities and helpful staff as highlights. Several guests observed site leveling issues that required adjustment. Most found the pull-through sites well-maintained with good amenities.

Great Park

I don't understand why people put 3 stars for this park. I thought it was great. The camping spots were super clean. All the pads are pull through. They can accommodate different size campers. The pads are well maintained and new. Each spot has a covered pavilion. I was able to pick up TV signal here. The bathrooms were clean and maintained. I had 4G network with T-Mobile. The service is iffy kind of in and out. Spots #222 and #223 are directly across from the Wi-Fi extender. And you'll have 5 bars. The other spots near the restrooms. The Wi-Fi is okay, but not great. The 2 spots that I took pictures of with their numbers are the best spots if you want Wi-Fi.

This state park should have more reviews

The wind really picked up as I drove into this part of Texas, gusting to 15 miles an hour. I had reserved a campsite but asked if I could switch to a shelter for the 3 nights I was there. Once again, the Ranger could not have been more accommodating. Birding on the lake was excellent as was the demonstration garden designed to attract birds and butterflies. Thanks to the camp hosts who kept the feeders stocked. The shelters were full over the week-end with lots of families but it was very quiet at night. The showers were clean and hot water was plentiful.

Adequate for tent in the RV/water/electric loop

I was in site #122 in the Cenizo Loop ($16). The $10 water-only tent sites weren't reservable and I needed the assurance of a site with a later arrival planned.  I arrived at 5:02p and the office had closed but my name and site were posted on the board and the person who was there said I just needed to return in the morning by 9 to check-in.

This loop was~80% occupied. I appeared to be the only tent camper, the others were RVs, vans or trailers. The sites are close together and sounds from more than one neighbor were regular, but not too annoying (save for one younger parent riding through with a boom box playing). My particular site didn't seemed cramped because the back side was brush, but the cleared space for a tent was limited and required  shortening the guy wires.

Restroom w/showers was just one site away and didn't cause any noise issues. The facilities were marginal but functional, didn't use the shower.

Overall I'd say this would be average expectations. Definitely recommend studying the maps to choose a site carefully depending on your own priorities.

Hot & Sandy

Most of the pull thru sites are not level, we have auto level on our 5th wheel and the driver side tires were 3” off the ground. During COVID they are only booking every other site which helped with us fitting into our site. They do have a covered picnic tank engine at each site. Handy park if you’re there to fish. Would try somewhere else in the future.

Hot and dry

Cabins were fine, A/C worked, but other than that, not much to offer.
