South Central Texas is a prime area of the state to explore. Known far and wide as the Hill Country, it is so named for its rolling hills and woodlands. Famous for its excellent wineries, historic small towns and natural beauty, the Hill Country also boasts a unique offering for campers known as Enchanted Rock State Park. 


Enchanted Rock is a large pink granite dome that rises 425 feet above the surrounding terrain and is the largest granite monadock in the United States. Indians, Spaniards and early settlers all had stories of magical, spiritual or unexplained happenings around the rock which gave the feature its name. These days, one of the most intriguing sights is at night, after a rain. The wet dome seems to glitter in the moonlight and while regarded as a simple play of light on the granite, the effect adds to both the mystery and enchantment of the area. 


Another intriguing site in the Hill Country is Jacob’s Well, a short 78 miles southeast from Enchanted Rock State Park. Fed by a natural artesian spring, Jacob’s Well consists of a large pool connected to a vast underground cavern system that sprawls more than 4300 feet. The spring is connected to the Trinity Aquifer and emits thousands of gallons of water each day where visitors can enjoy the cool 68 degree water. Jacob’s Well is a popular and welcome retreat from the famous Texas heat!

You’ll meet all sorts of livestock: longhorns, donkeys, mini donkeys, mini goats, sheep, chickens, potbellied pigs, dogs, cats, horses and an overly confident duck named Bill.

Welcome to Camp Twisted Oaks, secluded campsites nestled in the woods on more than 20 acres! This is the perfect getaway. Let's be clear campfires and camping go hand in hand. That being said if there is a RED FLAG FIRE WARNING campers will only be allowed to have smaller fires in the designated fire ring/pit. Texas does not need to become another California with respect to wildfires. You will have to be ok with this...100%. I want campers to enjoy smores and toasted wieners but when it is dry, windy with low humidity the conditions are perfect for things to go wrong. This is why I like cool weather camping....generally no red flags.

The property is in San Marcos, and there are trails through the entire property - all trails are at least 4ft. wide. The terrain is flat and grassy - The trails are maintained. San Marcos offers lots of things to do and places to go. The crystal clear river is our greatest resource. Floating, kayaking and canoeing are all great fun. We have rentals available here, just ask us! We offer transport to and from as well depending on availability. Advance notice is encouraged with rentals

If you enjoy playing disc golf, we have homemade disc golf baskets and you can purchase a bucket of golf balls from us. We also have ring toss and a large trampoline. The property has an expansive feel to it with a minimal amount of traffic. There are only 3 properties beyond mine on a dead end road.

This is not KOA, these are private owners sharing their beautiful land with folks who can appreciate it. We work hard to keep things clean and safe for our guests. If you have any concerns please notify us through the The Dyrt forum or call me before booking a reservation, our goal is to have happy campers!

Other Things to Note:

\- I have portable solar panels , batteries and inverter to charge cellphone if needed. I can provide water in an emergency and do have a septic dump station.

We have tried to remain true to our core values when we decided to share our property with campers. Our main priority it looking out for our environmental impact. In our home we use 90% rainwater and the camp toilet and shower are also rainwater. It is a bucket flush into a septic and works well, campers have had no issues with this setup.

We do not have trash pickup (yet). We will be glad to recycle aluminum and plastic bottles. Paper can be put into fire pit and any food products can be put in our compost pile. That leaves you with very little to haul away. The rule is generally if it is here leave it if you bring it with you take it away.



Camp Twisted Oaks

We are an overnight parking/camping spot in Austin Texas that caters to the CamperVan community. Vans, Conversions, Skoolies, box Trucks, etc... We offer 2 full bathrooms with showers and a laundry room. Small Rvs and tent campers are welcome however the sites only have a regular 20 amp electric outlet and a non potable water supply. Regular RV ACs electric supplies require more amperage.



Onlyvans

This is a quiet place in Lockhart TX for one RV and up to one extra vehicle. This property has 2 houses, and the RV parking spot is between the taller house and a nice tall grove of shady oak trees. This is not a campground, you will be the only RV on property, and there are 2 Airbnb units on the property. This is a great option for a home base to visit Austin (30 minutes) and San Antonio.

\-Water is available, but only for your tank, not to be hooked up all night.

\-Tents, ez ups, outside music, etc are not allowed.

Welcome to Los Rios Campground! We are located in Camp Wood, TX on 900 front feet of the majestic Nueces River. Our campground consists of nearly 14 acres with 10 Cabins, 4 Tiny Homes, 5 RV Sites & several sites for Primitive Tent Camping. We are the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Time to unplug, reconnect, and let the river recharge you!

Check In/Out: Check in time is 3pm for Cabins & Tiny Homes and 1pm for RV Sites & Primitive Camping Sites. Arriving guests are welcome to arrive as early at 12pm on arrival date to begin use of campground facilities (including river access). However, please bear in mind that your accommodation may not be available/accessible for check in and use until designated check in time. Early arrivals must park in the overflow parking area (near the barn).



Check out time is 10am for all accommodations. However, after checking out, departing guests are welcome to continue their use of campground facilities (including river access) until 2pm of the departing day at no additional costs. Departing guests (after checking out and vacating accommodation at 10am) must park in the overflow parking lot (near the barn) to continue use of campground facilities. Please be sure to inform the office of your intention to stay beyond accommodation check out time.



We cannot guarantee the same cabin/site if you choose to extend your stay, but we'll darn sure try our best to make it happen Please check with the office as soon as you can to see about possible extensions.

This a "want to camp" campground. If you "need to camp" due to financial or other reasons, Camp EZ will not be a good fit for you.

Community vibe 'round here; everyone expected to be respectful of one another and clean up after themselves "leave no trace" style. One week maximum stay. Bring a tent and gear to be comfortable. 2 private hot outdoor showers, rustic kitchen and charming compost privy included. Wood fired sauna available. Visitors are expected to clean up after themselves especially in the kitchen, showers, restroom and, of course, your campsite. Trash and recycle containers are around or, better yet, pack it out! Campfires in designated area only with permission(burn ban sometimes). Bring firewood.

I have a 2 acre community on a secret and secluded little street 5 miles due South of the capitol of TX and even closer(2.5) to the very hip SoCo area(Continental Club, Jo's Coffee, Guero's Taco Bar, El Mercado and lots more). I have 3 cats, 11 chickens, 15 ducks, 2 little donkeys and 6 sweet mini goats here at my little and funky'farmette' right on Williamson Creek (flowing sometimes and not really swimmable) and next to a huge wooded greenbelt with a quiet and unused nature trail. This is not a KOA or a state park. This is a home campground. Its kind of rustic and we like it that way. You may see a roach, and you may also see a deer, a fox or a coyote. We are busy and not always able to visit for long. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Hills Cafe and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. No wild or excessive partying here please and please remember: no smoking…(smoking area x the street).

This is a small mom and pop company, not a big cooperation.

Mojo Dojo camp has Starlink WIFI provider which is very reliable but not super fast, this is the right place to unplug not internet binge.

A walking trail surrounds most of the fenced in property and you are invited to explore, there are some beautiful gardens own site as well. There are 2 additional rental sites on the land, one is The Purple Green House and also the ArtV, a revamped 1967 Holiday Rambler RV. Each place can hold a maximum of 2 adults only and no pets. This place is a wonderful space for a small retreat of artists, writers, musicians, nature/plant lovers, yoga practitioners or even more enchanting amusements. Often times you can observe several species of birds, lizard and frogs on the land.

If The Purple Green House is not occupied you are encouraged to explore inside. Tropical plant care 101 class is available in there if there are no guests, please inquire about additional costs for this. It’s a fascinating space that was created almost exclusively with recycled and/or repurposed materials; vintage windows harvested from remodeled historic Austin homes, recycled glass bottle bricks that form the foundation and the repurposed clear vinyl panels that are the roof.
