Campers park along the wide roadway near their assigned picnic shelter rather than pulling into defined spaces. "Sites are elevated which offer great views but it also means way less privacy," notes Kyle L.. A boat ramp operates adjacent to the campground, creating regular vehicle traffic during daylight hours. Campers in decent physical condition can navigate the steep hillside trail down to the water's edge. The bathhouse near the camping area includes flush toilets, warm showers, and an exterior water spigot, though facilities close for winter months from November through February. A free dump station with potable water sits about a quarter-mile down the road.
The campground operates year-round with no reservations required, though seasonal shower closures affect winter visits. Karla L. confirms that "No electric but there is water available up at the bathrooms." Town of Fritch lies five minutes away for basic supplies, while Amarillo sits 45 minutes distant for major shopping needs.
