A five-minute walk on a dirt road leads to the lake's sandy shore, where swimming and fishing are both common. Sites tend to be less occupied here than at nearby Sandy Beach City Park - Clarendon. The campground is open year-round, so fall and spring visits avoid summer heat on the Texas Panhandle.
