South Central Texas is a prime area of the state to explore. Known far and wide as the Hill Country, it is so named for its rolling hills and woodlands. Famous for its excellent wineries, historic small towns and natural beauty, the Hill Country also boasts a unique offering for campers known as Enchanted Rock State Park. 


Enchanted Rock is a large pink granite dome that rises 425 feet above the surrounding terrain and is the largest granite monadock in the United States. Indians, Spaniards and early settlers all had stories of magical, spiritual or unexplained happenings around the rock which gave the feature its name. These days, one of the most intriguing sights is at night, after a rain. The wet dome seems to glitter in the moonlight and while regarded as a simple play of light on the granite, the effect adds to both the mystery and enchantment of the area. 


Another intriguing site in the Hill Country is Jacob’s Well, a short 78 miles southeast from Enchanted Rock State Park. Fed by a natural artesian spring, Jacob’s Well consists of a large pool connected to a vast underground cavern system that sprawls more than 4300 feet. The spring is connected to the Trinity Aquifer and emits thousands of gallons of water each day where visitors can enjoy the cool 68 degree water. Camp Quapaw

Established in 1886 as a railroad depot, Avinger Station operated into the 20th Century. It was moved to a more prominent location near its original site in June of 2021 after pondering how the depot might serve the community once again. Desiring to preserve and improve our community’s heritage of service to travelers and trades, the depot is being restored and will serve as the RV Park office. Complimentary WiFi, concrete pads, patios, and roads. Our aim is to make your stay easy and enjoyable as you travel to or through East Texas.

Avinger Station

Laguna Vista RV Park, Inc.

This is a small campground just outside of city limits in Marshall, Texas. We have 14 full hookup lots which include 50/30/20 amp electrical outlets, fresh city water and sewer connections at every site. The pull through sites are between 70 and 78 feet long, back-in sites are up to 60 feet long! All sites are a minimum of 35 feet wide! We have fire rings at 8 of the sites and some picnic tables. The Piney Woods area, we have developed a walking trail in the rear of the property that is approximately 15 acres in size and is in a forested setting. There is also a community area with a fire pit, picnic tables and corn hole game. We have a large doggy park where your pet can run free to get out some pent up energy!

Buckhorn Creek Campground is situated along the banks of Lake O' the Pines in the Ark-La-Tex portion of the Pineywoods of east Texas near the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

Gate House Hours: 10am-6pm Monday through Saturday, 12pm-6pm Sunday.

## Recreation

Boating, fishing, water sports, and wildlife viewing are all popular pastimes at the campground. Hunting opportunities for white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and small game are available on nearby public lands. Lake O' the Pines fishing includes largemouth, spotted, and white bass along with crappie, catfish, and sunfish. In addition to boat fishing there are areas for bank fishing along the shore and below the dam along Big Cypress Bayou. Birdwatchers are also encouraged to bring their binoculars as numerous resident and migratory bird species inhabit the area. Bald eagle sightings are a common occurrence in fall and winter and they are occasionally sighted in spring and summer. 

## Facilities

Buckhorn Creek features 57 RV campsites with water and electric hookups. There are also 38 non-electric tent campsites which have a tent pad, picnic table, fire ring, and lantern pole. Restrooms with showers are located in each section of the park. Trash receptacles are located throughout the park. A boat ramp, courtesy dock, playground, and sewer dump station are also provided.

Lake O' the Pines includes about 18,700 acres of water and 9,000 acres of land, encompassing an area so large it spans five counties.   
  
The lake was created by the construction of the Ferrell's Bridge Dam on the Big Cypress Bayou. The reservoir was originally created as part of the overall plan for flood control in the Red River Basin below Denison Dam in Oklahoma, and has now become a recreational oasis for outdoor enthusiasts.

The nearby towns of Jefferson and Marshall offer plenty of historic and tourist attractions, and Texas Wildflower Trail routes are located along the roads surrounding the lake.

Big Cypress Rv Park is the Mount Pleasant and Pittsburg area's newest and nicest Rv Park

We care about our guest and it is reflected in the way operate our park. We have 39 clean, quiet and well kept sites. 24 hr laundry room and restrooms with large showers.

We added a large dog run as of fall 2012 and an open air pavilion in Feb. 2013. We have many large pull thru sites, and back in sites as well. All sites include water, sewer and electric (30 and 50 amp), All sites are big rig friendly and two miles from Bob Sandlin lake.

The area has a lot of attractions to offer - lakes, antique stores, Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards is a must see if you enjoy a glass or a bottle of wine and beautiful surroundings or just a nice dinner. We are conveniently located on the north side of Pittsburg 2 miles outside of town, with quick and easy access into Mount Pleasant.
