Best RV Parks & Resorts near Needville, TX

Several RV campgrounds serve the Needville area with varying levels of amenities and site configurations. Eric and Jay's RV Resort offers full hookups with 50-amp service on slightly uneven sites, while Shiloh RV Park in Richmond provides pull-through sites with full hookups and allows campfires. "The sites are pull throughs with full hookups in a quiet atmosphere, though the spots are a bit narrower due to the park's age," noted one visitor to Shiloh RV Park. Highway 6 RV Resort contains 218 sites with concrete pads and accommodates large rigs with 50-amp electrical service. USA RV Park in Sugar Land restricts fires but offers both 30 and 50-amp service for travelers.

Access to medical facilities influences some RV park selections around Needville. Lakeview RV Resort operates a shuttle to MD Anderson Cancer Center and maintains concrete pads overlooking a small lake. Cell service varies significantly between parks, with Brazos Bend State Park noted for limited AT&T coverage despite its proximity to urban areas. Most parks remain open year-round and accept pets with standard restrictions. RV travelers should note that during peak travel periods, particularly winter months when snowbirds visit, advance reservations become essential at parks like Jetstream RV Resort at Wharton, which maintains 154 level sites with sewer hookups, showers, and 50-amp electrical service.

    USA RV Resorts Marina Bay

    Central location in Kemah, TX

New, smaller park with all the amenities. Level concrete pads will accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. All are back in sites with sewer, city water, 20/30/50 amp power, cable TV, and WiFi included. There’s a nice club house for parties, laundry facilities, a pool next to the bayou, fishing and kayaking/canoeing in the bayou and a friendly staff that keeps the park clean and cared for.

    South Main RV Park

Good for proximity to NRG stadium

My husband and I came to the Houston rodeo and stayed here strictly for proximity to the stadium. The RV park did have a shuttle which was very nice to get us to and from. Most sites are large enough for big rigs, you do have to park on the gravel right in front of your rig which can be tight. Nice concrete pads at each site. Traffic can be loud and there are many full-time set ups here with permanent residents. Has a gate with a code so it did feel safe at night. Small dog park that could use some extra TLC. Laundry on premises, no play ground, good wifi and Verizon service.

Stephen F. Austin State Park Campground

    Pleasant Texas State Park

We had a really nice relaxing stay at Stephen F Austin State Park near San Filepe, Texas. Great little state park easily accessed from I-10. The 38 RV sites are all asphalt pad pull throughs with 30/15 amp electric, water and sewer complete with concrete pad for table, fire pit, lantern and all well spaced for plenty of privacy...big rig friendly. They have an additional 39 tent only sites with water and 25 primitive. Screened shelters are reservable for tent camping with 20 amp electric and water plus one rustic cabin with amenities. There is a$5 daily entrance fee in addition to camping fees. The bathhouse facilities are brand new. It's a small park but they do have five miles of trails for hiking/biking with views of the Brazos River. We enjoyed the wildlife; deer strolling in the campground every morning and evening, birds, rabbits, frogs, turtles, a bobcat and numerous owls. They have a Nature Center; however it was not open during our visit. The park office has a small store with sundries and park souvenirs. The nearby San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site tells the story of early settlers to Texas and is worth a visit. We made a run to the nearby town of Sealy to do a much needed laundry stop...small community with grocery, dining and fuel to meet most needs. Southlake RV Resort

    Nice clean park

The park is VERY clean and also quiet! It’s close to everything so thats a major plus. However it does have A LOT of rules. Also, a lot of long term residents live here. The back in spots are a little tight so if you’re not great at backing in just get a pull through. The facilities are immaculate . It’s been worth the price so far.

    Quintana Beach County Park

    Nice relaxing beach park

We stayed here during the week in April, and the weather was perfect. A nice steady breeze kept the mosquitoes away, which we heard can be pretty bad. They have 30 amp FHU sites as well as 50 amp. Also have nice looking cabins for rent. A short walk over a nice boardwalk to the beach. Also half mile walk to the bird sanctuary, which is awesome for bird lovers. Free wifi, but the connection kept dropping. Great 5G connection with Verizon. Level, concrete pads. We required no leveling. Sites are spacious and patio is surrounded with well mowed grass. Campground is on a ship channel and it was fun watching the huge tankers go by. We really enjoyed this park and will return. No shade, so it would be quite hot in summer.

    Lakeview RV Resort

    This is a resort

Has everything I need for a long term stay. Computer room, exercise equipment, showers, laundry. The grounds are well kept. Outdoor kitchens for use. The pool is small and not deep but is still enjoyable. Pretty lakes with fish. A shuttle to the hospitals. It’s right off the highway. Nothing within walking distance though except the convenience store.

    Jetstream RV Resort at Waller

    wonderful

We stayed here for almost five weeks, and we had a wonderful time! A wonderful team and a multitude of wonderful amenities! There is not a lot of traffic or noise because there are a lot of full-time residents and friendly neighbors. The park was spotless, and it featured wide roads, concrete pads that were level, with complete connections. Pet-friendly; our two canine companions absolutely adored the dog wash station. Recommendation heartily! contexto

Guide to Needville

RV camping near Needville, Texas offers easy access to both Houston's urban amenities and the peaceful Gulf Coast. The area sits at low elevations between 95-105 feet above sea level with hot, humid summers where temperatures often exceed 95°F and mild winters. Cellular reception varies significantly between campgrounds, with some parks experiencing limited coverage despite their proximity to major metropolitan areas.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: At Brazoria Lakes RV Resort, campers can enjoy a stocked fishing lake right on the property. "Beautiful resort! Stocked fishing lake, swimming pool, game room, gym. Beautiful outdoor kitchens w/tv's," notes Rachel L.

Park explorations: Adjacent to Houston / Med Center KOA Holiday is Tom Bass Park with extensive walking paths. "The best thing about the location is that it backs up to Tom Bass park that has wonderful dog parks along with playgrounds and frisbee golf," writes Tawnya.

Exercise options: Many RV parks near Needville offer fitness facilities for staying active. "The park has everything one can imagine needing in a resort," notes Angel about Highway 6 RV Resort. Another camper adds, "They have 2 dog runs, one of them being the largest dog run we've seen at a campground so our mali really got to sprint it out."

What campers like

Clean facilities: Many campgrounds maintain well-kept amenities. "Pool is clean, bathrooms are clean, laundry room clean and looked like all the machines worked. Level concrete pads," reports Al09 S. about Highway 6 RV Resort.

Dog-friendly features: Numerous parks cater to pet owners with specialized amenities. "They also had a free dog wash! Both our doggos got washed and it was easy to use with hot and cold water and a larger blow dryer," shares Marie B. about her stay at Highway 6 RV Resort.

Safety features: Gated entries provide security at several Needville-area RV parks. "Once you're inside the gates, the park was clean and staff was friendly," notes Greg S. about Lakeview RV Resort. Another camper adds, "Very safe gated community, quiet, staff was friendly and the camp site has many amenities."

What you should know

Traffic noise levels: Many RV parks near Needville sit close to major highways. "It is directly off of the highway so don't expect quiet," Whitney V. warns about Lakeview RV Resort. Another reviewer notes, "The front of the RV Park is by the toll road, and you can hear the traffic."

Site spacing variations: Some parks have more compact layouts than others. "This looks to be an older park so the widths are a bit smaller but manageable but the price makes up for any misgivings," notes Bill L. about Shiloh RV Park.

Management styles: Parks enforce rules differently. One Highway 6 RV Resort guest reports, "They follow people around with a radar, to fine you if you idle too fast." However, most campers find staff friendly and professional.

Tips for camping with families

Pool considerations: Several parks offer swimming facilities with varying rules. "The pool was so fancy and the water was lukewarm from the warm sun so night swims were the best. They have adult pool hours from 8pm-10pm," shares Marie B. about Highway 6 RV Resort.

Playground access: Not all parks have dedicated children's areas. "Great for adults, not really anywhere for little kids to play besides the pool," notes Whitney V. about Lakeview RV Resort.

Kid-friendly activities: Some parks provide recreational options. At AllStar RV Resort, "They have a small pool, nice recreation room with TV & exercise equipment," reports Susan T., making it suitable for families seeking basic amenities.

Tips from RVers

Medical facility access: Several campgrounds cater to those receiving treatment. "We stayed here for five days while visiting MD Anderson. A shuttle ran between the park and MD Anderson which made it very convenient for us," shares Holly D. about Lakeview RV Resort.

Site surfaces: Concrete pads are common at many parks. "We stayed in the newer part of the campground which has only cement pads & gravel for each site. Super easy to park as all are pull through," notes Susan T. about AllStar RV Resort.

Reservation timing: Winter months bring higher occupancy. "Large spacious sites. All concrete, minimal grass is behind outer rim sites," reports Rachel H. about Jetstream RV Resort at Wharton, which maintains 154 sites that can fill quickly during peak season.
