Shelter from the Storm

We stayed here 2/13/21 to 2/18/21 during the Texas Extreme Cold and Snow event!

We had originally planned to go to Junction after our time in Lockhart State Park, but wanted to get further South away from the snow and cold. We easily switched our reservation to here although it was supposed to be…

Nice well maintained campground

This is a full service campground. Pool, TV room, breakfast bar, laundry ... etc. Bike trail runs right by campground. Very well maintained and close to downtown. A little pricey for tent camping but worth it.

Nice and quiet.

We stopped for the night on the way into North Padre Island. It was a perfect stop after a long day of driving. The sites are large and well spaced. With 50 amp power and water at each site as well as a dump station at the entrance, it has all we need. And it was fun listening to an owl just after…

Fun Weekend

Camped with all 5 of our little ones, great campground, staff was friendly and helpful and the store right by the park gates sells hard wood firewood for a decent price

Very nice and close to the Alamo/river walk

We called an audible on our trip and spent a couple nights here that we weren’t originally planning on. We were able to get reservations on a day notice, and got a great spot across from the playground (our kids loved) with full hookups. They’ve got a nice little pool, pretty big playground and a…

Second time

We stopped here on our way back because we liked it. This time it seemed the weekend crew did not have the same courtesy the weekday crew does. We wanted a cabin because of how cold. We stayed and seemed to be the only in the cabins, but throughout the night cars came in and people hid in the cabin…

RTT across the country

We traveled and lived in an RV for a year. We been to a lot of KOA’s. This is by far one of the best. Like I said we are RTT’n and figure to get a normal tent spot. Nope we got a back in RV spot and when we checked in they gave us a dinner menu which was pizzas to order and a breakfast menu. These…

Great facilities, poor internet

We stopped here for one night and the facilities are amazing. The park is huge with every kind of site you might want. Everything was clean and each site had some pretty great fire pits. Unfortunately, it poured rain all night. The rain could have been the reason the internet was slow if everyone…

Goliad state park

I’m from Goliad, so whenever I feel like getting outdoors I can just drive 15 minutes down the road to the park and enjoy a day hike or a weekend out in the woods. The park is awesome lots of Historic sites and lots of history in such a small town. The park has Tent sites, small cabins for rent and…
