GuideQuiet, yet close to San Antonio. It’s only a few miles of I35, but feels like you’re out in the country. Mostly longer term stayers (we’re here for a few months), but they do a very nice job of keeping the campground feel instead of the trailer park vibe. Nice dog area and walking also. Quite happy.

GuideIt’s close to everything! It was quiet, and site was large. The only negative things I have to say are the WiFi was nonexistent and we have our own on board. The road leading into the campground is a dirt rock road and very bumpy, dusty and has holes. It really needs to be paved.

LegendThis campground(CG)/RV resort has exceptional customer service. We were on a waitlist to add another day to our reservation. They proactively called us back about a month later to let us know they could accommodate another night’s stay. We followed the website instructions to come in so we could take a right turn into the RV Resort, which is a 1/4 mile from the golf course entrance. A very short rig could take a left turn. The gate was down so we called the number listed on the gate and we were let in for a very pleasant check-in. We were assigned pull-through site 406 with FHUs. There’s a slope off the front of the site, so I needed to center the rig on the level part of the cement pad. By doing this I needed 20’ of sewer hose to get from my rear black tank to the sewer. The CG was quiet with no kids running around as this is a 55+ CG. The guest internet was below average for a park this size, but we have Starlink. We got 3 bars on Verizon. Most of the campers here were seasonal with license plates from CO, MN, and WI. Several of the campers we talked to didn’t golf and came here to get away from cold weather. We did not see any overnighters during our four-day stay but this CG is fairly far from the San Antonio area interstates. CG was well-kept with no junky sites. They have a laundry room, but a couple of machines were not working. The sites were decently spaced and very long. Many reviewers called the sites spacious. The sites were not as far apart or as large when compared to many of the State Parks or Corps of Engineers CGs we’ve stayed. Get pizza from Luigi's Italian Restaurant in nearby Castroville as it’s in the top 5 pizzas we’ve had as we traveled through all lower 48 states. We enjoyed our stay, including playing their challenging golf course, and would definitely return.
GuideI felt unsafe in the neighborhood, but the actual campground was okay. A small patch of grass, fencing around and didn't use any amenities as we stayed one night. We were in San Antonio on a dreary, rainy day so it wasn't our best experience. This park had all we needed but I would not recommend any of the nearby areas to shop or dine. It is close to the Riverwalk and this is a fun place to visit, dine and take a river cruise.
TravelerVery quiet, clean, and very well maintained. We work full-time remote and this has beautiful clear views of the sky for our Starlink dishy. The landscaping and grounds are beautifully planted and laid out, including a nice nature trail alongside the golf course. Would highly recommend to 50+ campers looking for access to the Texas Hill Country and San Antonio.
