We stayed 5 nights visiting San Antonio. This is a beautiful park outside of the city on the river. 30 minutes to downtown. The owners are awesome people and there is a real pride of ownership shown in the upkeep around the park.

Big place w lots of spots. Shaded and very well maintained. Has full hookups w WiFi and cable. Tons of amenities like a pool, hot tub, playground, weight room, laundry, arcade, and a general store. We stayed on the 4th and could see the fireworks from sea world. Very nice staff and tenants.

This RV park has everything you want and then some. Laundry room was great with lots of machines. There is also a heated pool and hot tub, excellent clean showers, gym and yoga, mini golf, TV/activities room and small store in the office that has a few RV necessities like sewer parts and also some souvenirs. They also have bulk propane they can fill on board tanks.
The lady when checked us in was very nice. The place is expensive though! We had a back in spot with full hook ups $65/night. We came here because it was 1 mile to my friend’s house and were expecting a Passport America discount but they said they do not currently offer that discount. The expense was worth it for convenience of being so close to downtown San Antonio but we only stayed the one night. The park also offers cabins. Good cell reception ATT and Verizon.

There are great perks to staying here if just wanting to chill in the RV. But, it’s also close to the nearby attractions such as, the Alamo, The Mission state park and the River Walk. We enjoyed the amenities and the quiet gentle vibes of the RV park.

Overall, I can’t imagine you would be disappointed unless you were expecting some large acre nature RV park, but it’s downtown and quiet...what more could you ask for!?
ScoutWe stayed here at the camp ground for a week. It’s a decent campground with a pool, hot tub, dog walk, minigolf and a playground for kids. Facilities are clean and grounds are well kept. Very close to the riverwalk and downtown. There’s even a bike trail into downtown. But this park is in a bad part of town. When we pulled into our site the lady next door told us to make sure we lock up our bikes. They have had theirs stolen in the past. On our fourth night here my husbands bike was stolen. We had two locks on the bikes. A cable lock and a kryptonite lock and both were cut. They didn’t take my bike, I guess because they didn’t have enough hands to take it. We ended up having to keep my bike inside our rv. And the park has no security or gate. And the neighbor next door told us at one point the thieves were cutting the fence to get to peoples bikes. Just be cautious if you plan to stay here.

Stayed here for a weekend with my family. So nice to have AC in the cabin with shade on the little patio area. I’m convinced site 13 is the best. Only con was that others were using it to get down to the lake so we had a few people walk right up next to the cabin with their fishing gear. Bathrooms are a short walk away, as well as trash cans/dumpster. Woke up to a large group of javelinas at our site who were sniffing around. We set up a tent at the cabin area and were able to have lots of shade.

I usually don’t post reviews like this but I needed to for this place! The website is outdated and is false advertising, they don’t over everything listed on the site. we stayed here before it changed ownership. The cabins are not what they used to be, the website is not accurate. Over price cabins and now they look like they are from 1990 theme, so outdated looks like they got the furniture right out of the dumpsters. The new California owners don’t care about the park everything is broken, worn out, workers walks around smoking marijuana and walks up to you and the smell from the bearded guy is disgusting who lives in a shack there on site. They turned this once beautiful park into a dump hippie ground.
GuideCampground is big, lots of campers & lots of cabins. Biggest, cleanest, nicest laundry room I've encountered. Pool is good, grounds well maintained. Only downside is it's right off major road, so noisy if you're in the first couple rows. Easy in/out with 38 ft class A.
ScoutI have camped here both in the Texas winter (Nov) and recently Texas Summers (July). It is a beautiful tucked away area. Nice trails, great tree cover and full of nature and flowing water.
TravelerI recently stayed at Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort and was thoroughly impressed. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with Buckshot Roulette spacious, well-maintained RV sites and stunning Texas Hill Country views.
GuideOverall, Choke Canyon SP is a nice park. Large footprint in southeast Texas between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. Good trails overall, however, could use better markings at trail intersections. Choke Canyon Reservoir is large and the area we were at had very little motorized boat traffic, which made it great for kayaking. That could be attributed to the low lake level and the overgrowth of hydrilla. Saw a lot of wildlife, rabbits, deer, coyotes, alligators, many fish species, many birds and a sounder of hogs. Sites are well kept and the boat ramp is large and long. Could easily launch/recover up to 4 boats at once. Lots of places to fish from the banks and jettys (but due to low lake levels, some are not accessible). Will definitely return some day.
GuideWe stayed here 2/13/21 to 2/18/21 during the Texas Extreme Cold and Snow event!
We had originally planned to go to Junction after our time in Lockhart State Park, but wanted to get further South away from the snow and cold. We easily switched our reservation to here although it was supposed to be full. Due to the weather, very few people around. Sites are huge. Had water and power at our site and we were close to restroom. We were in #108 which was also a Handicap site. After a day or so the water froze up so the bathrooms were closed as they were flush toilets' with showers. Luckily we filled our tank so we had water to use. We lost power for about 12 hours total but then got it back. It was down to 15 degrees a couple nights and we got a little snow and ice but we survived being from Wisconsin LOL
Also just down from us was a Bird Sanctuary where they put out fruit and seed. The Bird watching all over the park was fantastic. Not sure what's going on in the area where the buildings and nature center are, pretty run down and seem almost vacated. Saw tons of deer and feral hogs and Javelin and roadrunners etc.
Didn't plan to come here but really glad we did!

We stay there for 3 months last winter. Campground is a good location to visit San Antonio and the surrounding area. The owners are great people and they always have things going on for the campers. You can fish in the creek or just relax. They have great campfires for everyone to enjoy.

GuideIt’s close to everything! It was quiet, and site was large. The only negative things I have to say are the WiFi was nonexistent and we have our own on board. The road leading into the campground is a dirt rock road and very bumpy, dusty and has holes. It really needs to be paved.

It's a great price for the area and it looks very well kept. We came here reluctantly after reading the reviews on here and Google and its an excellent example of not believing everything on the internet. It doesn't have a store but the office is really clean and nice, the camp ground is pretty well kept and clean, nice laundry area. No complaints at all from. Me and my husband!
ScoutWe called ahead and got a good idea of what we needed and what to expect. Upon arrival, we were beyond impressed. Wendy was so helpful and accommodating. She didn't rush us or seem bothered even though we came just after closing. (We didn't know!) We were able to take advantage of their active duty special. The store had everything we needed that we didn't grab beforehand. (Fire wood and energy drinks, plus cow candy for the little one!) She not only got us our map she was kind enough to actually take us to our site and show us where the facilities were. Since we came during the week, no one else was using the primitive tent sites with us which made for a private and exclusive experience. During the night, we could still hear trains and airplane but none of that could've ruined our amazing night. We were provided with a fire ring and couldn't have asked for more. She made sure to give us a 24 hour phone number in case there were ANY problems. Definitely will be back any time we are in town. Thank you again.

A pricey place to stay, but very close to downtown San Antonio with all the amenities and services you would expect to find and a high end RV resort. Laundry, a dog park, free WiFi, large paved roads and well spaced sites. Showers were in great shape and staff were incredibly friendly. If you have the cash and want to be close to downtown, this is the place!

Be sure to follow their directions and not your GPS, as there is a very low bridge one way and bottom scraping RR crossing another.
