Best RV Parks & Resorts near Seguin, TX

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Several RV parks operate in Seguin, Texas and surrounding areas with varying site configurations. River Shade RV Park, located directly on the Guadalupe River, provides full hookups including 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections at each site. These sites accommodate both small and large rigs, though the park layout features tight spacing between units. "Easy access and beautiful views. Close to the lake and river," notes one visitor about the Canyon Falls RV Park in the region. Canopy Luxury RV Resort offers 295 concrete pad sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp hookup options, spacious enough for big rigs with room for slideouts, with most sites featuring shade trees and privacy barriers.

Most RV parks in the area remain open year-round, making them suitable for winter travelers seeking Texas warmth. Dump stations are available at nearly all facilities, with some parks like Travelers World RV Resort and Canopy Luxury providing on-site sanitary dump services. While cellular service remains consistent throughout most of the region, visitors occasionally report connection difficulties at riverfront locations. Many parks allow pets, though specific breed restrictions may apply. According to a recent review, the front office staff at one park "helped guide us in especially with all the I10 construction," highlighting the importance of calling ahead when construction affects major access routes. Several parks enforce a 10-year-or-newer RV policy, so travelers with older units should verify acceptance before booking.

    Mission City RV Park

    Cream of the Crop

You don't get a much nicer RV park than this in a major city. It hits all of the marks: mass transit at your doorstep; pool, laundry, showers and a gift shop at the entrance; easy pull-through, level sites; picnic tables at each site; quaint southwestern style! This is a nice park for the overnight or the long stay, and it has easy access to major highways.

Hill Country RV Resort & Cottage Rentals

Nice Park with little room between sites

The park it’s self is nice and clean.  Staff for the most part is friendly and nice.  The pool is a hopping place over summer break and on the weekends when it’s warm.  RV sites are tight in the daily/weekly sites and parking your 40+ foot rig and tow vehicle in the spot are probably not happening.  They do have over flow parking and depending on your site it could be a good walk.

They are pet friendly and have several dog parks and potty areas through out the park.  The laundry room is like no other I’ve ever been too.  All machines operate via debit/credit cards, no more quarters!!

Over all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this park for monthly stays or in one of their top tier sites for daily/weekly stays.

    Fort Sam Houston Army RV

    Good trip!

All the sites are pull-through with full hookups(30 and 50 amp), and spacious enough for even the largest rigs. The grass was freshly mowed, and the park was clean. Staff were super friendly. There's a decent dog run at the back, propane available for purchase on-site, and two wash houses with washers and dryers. A large playground keeps the little ones entertained. Despite many full-timers, there were still plenty of open spots. It was very quiet—aside from the occasional train, which isn’t noticeable with the A/C running. Would be a 5-star stay if there were just a bit more shade [geometry dash 3d](https://geometrydash3d.com).

    Summit Vacation Resort

    Texas Camping at its finest

We loved the quiet and peace of this RV Resort nestled in Texas Hill Country.

The Park: they have a large pool area with cafe and snacks. The property is large and spaces are spread out through out the park. The big draw is the Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake, and the woods and hills.

They have hot shoes, bath houses, laundry.

The sites: Gravel and mostly level, very few sites were unlevel. You’re surrounded by hills so it is nice and quiet. They are full hook up sites. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table. Small deer herds would move through the park each evening. Many of the campers feed them corn and they know the sounds and come running out of the hills.

The campground is near grocery and hardware stores. Within an hour are several bigger towns with more stores.

Cellular: T-Mobile was decent but not great. They do have Campground WiFi that worked faster.

Canyon Lake Military - Randolph AFB

We love it here. Not for everyone.

We started with day passes, then graduated to renting out the loft cabins, then tried tent camping, and eventually and recently parked our travel trailer in the reservable RV spaces. All in the same vicinity. Made great memories at each stay.

Pro’s: Best rate in town for military (active, retired, $ disabled). Water is beautiful. Fishing can be fantastic. Lots of water activities available for rent or bring your own. Pet friendly, Great for families, most people are very respectful and wonderful to talk to. Good food and stores nearby. Lots of wildlife. Quiet. Close to town and short drive from San Antonio.

Cons: Hard to get ahold of staff to make reservations. Market is extremely expensive and staff isn’t very friendly. Lost and lots of fire ants.

We recommend it to all of our friends and family and bring them often. We love staying in the loft cabins. Some are pet friendly. We have stayed in the mobile homes on the other side of the lake once but that was not a great experience as our things were stolen off our table and covered patio (on Veterans Day) and they were only left unattended for 15 min or less. The mobile home wasn’t very nice but functional at least.

    Sienna Ridge RV Park

Great quiet park for those not looking for a lot of extra amenities

Quiet clean park with great, friendly staff.  $17 a day is based on $525 monthly rate. Common bath house and laundry is always clean and ready to use. No amenities such as pool or hot tub or overhead RV shades. Wide, mostly level, gravel pull thru and back in sites. Sites up on the hill get a nice breeze and feel secluded. Many are monthly residents but all RVs and spots are kept clean and friendly! Close to the lake, local rivers and 20min drive to New Braunfels. Sitting right in hill country gives amazing views and drives in all directions.

    Stone Creek RV Park

    Average RV Park

Good location along I35. Park has asphalt streets, but gravel sites. Mix of pull through & back in sites. Some sites have a small picnic shelter on a concrete pad. Full hookups with all utilities working as expected. Friendly, attentive staff. Nice, clean laundry room with new machines. Wifi is unsecured & so slow it’s useless. Phone reception is also poor. Located next to a horse lot with several horses so the odor is strong. (Our site was very close to horse stable). Park sits next to heavily used railroad tracks, frequent train whistles at all hours. There are many full timers, some units in need of upkeep with junk piled around campers. There was quite a bit of litter discarded along the creek that runs through the park (which was dry during our visit January 2021).

Guide to Seguin

RV campgrounds near Seguin, Texas offer diverse camping experiences within a 30-mile radius of the city. Located in Guadalupe County at an elevation of 522 feet, Seguin experiences hot summers with temperatures often exceeding 95°F from June through September. The nearby Guadalupe River provides recreation opportunities for campers seeking water activities during these warm months, with several campgrounds offering direct river access.

What to do

River activities at River Valley Resort: This Canyon Lake campground provides 1/4 mile of Guadalupe River access with shallow areas suitable for all ages. "We paddle boarded upstream about a mile. We had the river almost to ourselves in mid September," reports one visitor at Rio Guadalupe Resort & RV Park.

Biking on river trails: Campgrounds near San Antonio provide access to extensive bike trails. "Located right next to the San Antonio river, you are just a few miles from the famed San Antonio Riverwalk and many of the historic Missions in the area. The easy access to the river affords you miles and miles of bike and walking paths," notes a camper at Travelers World RV Resort.

Outdoor games and recreation: Many campgrounds feature on-site recreation amenities. "The park has nice amenities were great—nice pool, fitness center, and sparkling clean bathrooms," mentions a visitor to Austin Lone Star RV Community.

What campers like

Convenient city access: Campgrounds near urban centers provide easy access to attractions while maintaining quieter settings. "Located about 5 miles from The Alamo and Riverwalk. Both are a must see. We spent 3 days here and this park did not disappoint," states a visitor at Travelers World RV Resort.

Secure, gated facilities: Several RV resorts provide enhanced security features. "Very secure, codes used to enter gate, pool, showers/restrooms & 24hour laundry room. Highly recommend this campground, staff was very nice," reports a camper at Austin Lone Star RV Community.

Shade coverage: Tree canopies provide relief from summer heat at many campgrounds. "Nice RV resort with river access. Prices are good. And there is lots of space for the kids to run," writes a visitor to Summit Vacation Resort, which features large trees throughout the property.

What you should know

Train noise: Railroad proximity affects some campgrounds. "Train tracks run right past park so be prepared for train noise at all hours," advises a camper about Landa RV Park & Campground in New Braunfels.

Site variations: Terrain and site quality vary significantly between campgrounds and within the same facility. "Web site pictures are outdated most sites have the paved ground washed out. Some are good but not right on the river. Very tight and crowded camp ground," reports a visitor to River Shade RV Park.

Weather considerations: Summer heat requires planning. "This was our first time camping here. We were there in the middle of June in site 20 & 21. It was hooooot but the pool was nice, and the river was cold," notes a camper at Summit Vacation Resort.

Tips for camping with families

Riverfront accommodations: Sites near water access offer family recreation opportunities. "My sister in law made these reservations and I was a little bit skeptical because of the 'parking lot' pics online. I was nervous that it would feel like a huge parking lot. But, I was Pleasantly surprised!" says a visitor to Rio Guadalupe Resort about their riverfront accommodations.

Playground facilities: Several campgrounds feature dedicated children's areas. "We brought our 7 year old daughter and she really enjoyed playing at the playground. Our site was conveniently located in front of the playground and next to the shower/bathroom/laundry facility," notes a visitor to San Marcos River Resort.

Pet-friendly parks: Many campgrounds accommodate family pets. "Good sized shady fenced in dog park in the back with a picnic table. Rv campers have full access to the Summit compound which includes tubing shuttle, pool, tennis, putt putt golf, so on so forth," reports a Summit Vacation Resort visitor.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: Different site layouts offer varying experiences. "They allowed us pull thru spots side by side so we had green space between us and our doors opened towards each other," shares a camper at Rio Guadalupe Resort & RV Park about optimizing their campsite arrangement.

Utility connections: Water pressure variations occur at some rv campgrounds in Seguin, Texas and surrounding areas. "High water pressure; you'll need a pressure regulator. They sell them at the office!" advises a Travelers World RV Resort visitor.

Site leveling: Terrain varies across facilities. "Gravel and mostly level, very few sites were unlevel. You're surrounded by hills so it is nice and quiet," shares a visitor to Summit Vacation Resort about their experience with site conditions.

What RV parks are available in Seguin?

Seguin and the surrounding area offer several RV parks to choose from. Stone Creek RV Park provides a convenient location along I-35 with asphalt streets, gravel sites, and a mix of pull-through and back-in options. Some sites include small picnic shelters on concrete pads. Sienna Ridge RV Park is another option, offering a quiet, clean environment with wide, mostly level gravel sites. The park features both pull-through and back-in spots, with sites on the hill providing nice views. Both parks offer full hookups and clean facilities, making them solid choices for RVers visiting the Seguin area.

Are there pet-friendly campgrounds in Seguin?

Fort Sam Houston Army RV welcomes pets and features a decent dog run at the back of the property. All sites are spacious pull-throughs with full hookups, making it comfortable for you and your furry friends. Texas 281 RV Park is another pet-friendly option with lovely old Live Oak trees providing shade for walks. Most RV parks in the area accept pets, but always check specific pet policies regarding breed restrictions, leash requirements, and designated pet areas before booking your stay.

Are 50-amp RV campsites available in Seguin?

Yes, 50-amp service is widely available at RV parks in the Seguin area. Second Crossing (2nd-Xng) Camp offers sites with 30/50 amp service, allowing you to comfortably run multiple appliances. Guadalupe River RV Park and Campgrounds also provides 50-amp service, with some sites featuring dual electric poles. Most modern RV parks in the region understand the power needs of today's RVs and offer 50-amp service as standard. If you're traveling with a larger rig or need higher amperage, it's always wise to call ahead to confirm availability, especially during peak seasons.

Does Seguin have ATV-friendly camping options?

The Seguin area has limited dedicated ATV-friendly camping options. While Canyon Lake Military - Randolph AFB offers camping, there are no specific ATV trails on the property. Most RV parks in the region, like Mission City RV Park, prohibit ATV use within their boundaries. For ATV enthusiasts, your best option is to look for public lands or private riding parks near Seguin that allow both camping and ATV use. Always check local regulations and obtain any necessary permits before riding, as rules can change seasonally.

Can you rent RVs in Seguin?

Hill Country RV Resort & Cottage Rentals offers cottage rentals, though they don't specifically advertise RV rentals. For actual RV rentals, you'll likely need to check with dedicated RV rental companies in nearby San Antonio or New Braunfels. Summit Vacation Resort mentions having holiday homes for rent, which might be an alternative option if you're looking for accommodations without bringing your own RV. Consider online RV rental marketplaces or local dealerships that may offer rental services if you need an RV for your Seguin adventure.
