Quiet, uncrowded. Situated on the edge of a cliff above Lake Meredith. Picnic tables and a pit toilet are available.
Camped on Memorial Day Weekend, the park is run beautifully. Loved hiking the trails with my dogs. Campsites were nice, stayed at juniper the first night. It had a pavilion on every site, and located next to restrooms. Beautiful view of side of the canyon. I wouldn't recommend staying at Hackberry…
Beautiful campground. Sites well spaced with lots of trees separating the sites for privacy. Gorgeous hiking trail loop through the mountainside. Love this campground.
Several different campgrounds in the park. Lots of RV spots and many separate sites for tents. They even have a few rustic cabins for rent. Stayed at Hackberry campground. We went last year during COVID and many RV spaces were closed, I don’t know why because they were well spaced. Hackberry…

Clean, closed in doggie area. I would stay there again when passing thru. Parking lot camping but perfect for passing thru.
Thank you Dumas, Texas for the fine overnight RV parking. Did I say free?!? Electric hookups, place to fill with water and dump, and easy access. Dog park. This was a great place to spend an evening while traveling .

Long term living here. It felt like a trailer park. I think they only have 2-3 spaces they actually rent nightly. The playground was closed for repairs. There was a picnic table & a small grass pad in our spot which was nice. Definitely NOT a resort. Just an RV Park.
We spent one night here on our way from Indiana to Valley of the Gods. Plentiful spaces, few people, pet friendly, flush toilets and showers. The best part is that all sites - except for 10 RV hook up sites - are free!!!
This site is actually the River Site ATV trails which appears to be where local people with their dirk bikes and ATV ride the trails. It's right by the river off the hwy, trash is everywhere and it looks like a very unsafe area. Which was confirmed as we were turning around in the lot to get the…
I camped down in the canyon for 3 days and had a fantastic time. There’s a small store with tiny restaurant and tons of good hiking trails. I easily walked several trails even though I can’t walk far due to a hip disability.
You will find this to be a favorite campground worthy of bringing…
This place was incredible close to a couple places we wanted to stop at clean bathhouses very nice staff. Would stay here every time while passing through Amarillo
We visited Palo Duro the week after the Winter Apocalypse and I think because of that, the park was a lot less crowded than usual. It was our first trip in an RV, so we weren't sure what to expect. (We normally back country tent-camp and are used to a bit more space.) We booked Sagebrush site…
Some of the other camping areas seemed less spacious and private, but we really liked our site in the tent-only Cactus Campground. It had a shade shelter, a picnic table, and a dirt tent pad. There was also a fire ring with a grill grate, but a burn ban was in place. The water faucet was just…
This campground is great looks like it’s lots of fun in the summer. We only stayed 1 night but we did have a limo pick us up and take us to the steak house. Very nice staff full hook ups heated indoor pool.
