Quiet and cheap

Just $6 ($3/night with senior or access pass). Only one other camper during our stay. Dry camping only. Vault toilets. Nice covered picnic tables and grills. No ground fires allowed. No dump station (but free dump station 4 miles away at devils river day use)

Great view and cheap

Great views of the lake. Just a short hike down to the water. Best swimming area is under the bridge. Just $10 ($5w/pass). Vault toilets and water every few sites.

Always check the bathrooms

First bathroom completely trashed, second bathroom, someone left the door open and the seat of the pit toilet up...was swarming with flies. Opted not to stay, witch was a shame because it was gorgeous otherwise.

Always check the bathrooms

We were planning on staying there Sunday, May 9, 2021. The only bathroom did not have a toilet seat. As two women, this was problematic. We opted not to stay.

A great spot for a day or a week.

This is a very well managed RVPark. It is well kept with the usual amenities but also has a hiking trail and bird watching blinds. It’s above my level of expectation for the price.

Great spot

Ok. On to the next. Its just north of Del Rio, TX...named the nations friendlist boarder town. Crime rate is reportedly almost non existent around here. I did notice a TON of boarder patrol agents and police cruising everywhere around here......anyway, this is yet another campground…

Camp With the Bats

This park is a great escape to disconnect, view the DARK SKY and witness Mexican free-tailed bat emergence! Park campground is 25 miles after the turn off of US90. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights in mid-March. Few bats emerged during our stay; much better emergence in April as experienced in…

Great place to camp. 👍

Lived in Del Rio over 15 years and didn't know this campground existed until my brother was visiting from San Antonio and brought up the idea of staying there to fish all weekend. Nice, quiet and comfortable place to camp.

Super Private, Great Lake Access

Stopped by here on a road trip in November 2020. Site fee was $6 if you wanted a covered spot, but there were dispersed sites down a dirt road off the left of the main road.

Main camping area did have one pit toilet. The road runs directly into a boat ramp at the end and there was plenty of…

Nice Campground, but Loud Traffic

This small campground sits high above the banks of the Amistad Reservoir, but unfortunately, a little too close to HWY 90. The campsites enjoy a stunning view of the Chihuahuan Desert landscape and the water. The sites are spacious with lots of room for bigger rigs, and enjoy a shade structure over…

  • Large paved spots for larger rigs.
  • Nice covered picnic tables.
  • Some pull through spots.

Just for One Night

We wanted a layover stop on our way to Big Bend National Park and chose this park to use a PassPort America discount. It is close to Del Rio with all the shopping, etc. you might need, but it’s target clientele isn’t transient folks. Mostly long-term stays with people working in the area. The Bar…

Converted former military installation

The RV park is in an old Military installation that has been converted into housing, camping, golf course, swimming at the spring and has a museum. The grounds are very pretty. The CG is well worth the $19 (with Veterans Discount) per night for a pull through with full hookups. Sites are level…

A super poor RV park with trash and rednecks living there.

Okay, this is definitely an experience to stay here. If you are looking for a luxury or even moderate RV park, don’t stay here. However if you are someone who can find the diamond in the rough...go here. The owners are super nice and there is a bar on the park that is kickin! Everyone you meet in…

$6 a night...a real steal for this place!

Just 5 miles outside of Del Rio, Texas lies the limestone lined Amistad Reservoir which gathers the waters of the Rio Grande river on its journey to the gulf. Amistad means friendship, and as a dam project, was co-sponsored by the US and Mexico.  This park is a confluence of three distinct…
