Sitting directly on the edge of Lake Stamford, this city-managed campground provides boat-in and drive-in access with electric hookups and a on-site store that reviewers describe as reasonably stocked. Most sites are gravel, though grass has appeared on some spots as lake levels shift. Site quality varies noticeably: better spots include covered picnic tables and shade trees, while sites closer to the water tend to lack both. Utilities are not co-located, with water and electric connections at opposite ends of some sites. Pricing has been inconsistent with what the campground posts online, so confirming rates before arrival is worth the call. Crowds pick up around holidays. Campers wanting a more developed setup may find Haskell Municipal RV Park worth considering, roughly 10 miles northwest.

Not worth the price

Their website says $35 a night, but it was actually $70 per night, plus $20 to use "dump station". 

Site is just a picnic table you park next to. Electricity on end and water on the other, not together. My hose barley reached. The electric box was super janky, no breaker, and had exposed wires. I was nervous about plugging in my trailer.  The water faucet had no handle. I had to use a pair of plyers to turn the valve to get water on.

The "dump station" is not your normal PVC pipe sticking up from the ground. Its a large cement dome, with a cut out door on top. The sewage was about 3 inches from the top, and when I opened the door, I immediately shut it, it was so degusting. 

The only good thing about this site was it was near the water. No where near worth the $90 I spent. 

There is a much, nice and cheaper campsite on the other side of the lake. Dont waste your money here.

Country Living at the Lake

The sites are located close to the water with full-hook ups available. Most spots are gravel but depending on lake level some spots now have grass. The better sites have their own covered picnic tables. Some sites have tree with shade closer spot to the water do not any trees or picnic tables. There is store on site however the nearest gas station is a few miles out. There is also mobile home to rent out and they do allow for rent camping. Pets allowed but there is no designated area so must be picked up after. It’s really busy during holiday peak times when we went but it wasn’t as bad as most lakes in the area. Pull through spots are available and some spots are park as you choose. This place isn’t a resort has all amenities but it is right by the water and if you have a boat it’s not a short distance to dock.

Two things I love:

  1. It is right by the water
  2. The store was pretty well stocked

One thing I didn’t love: Some areas are park as you can fit and not paved or gravel.
