No entry or camping fee! Dispersed camping around Lake

I usually visit this lake for the fishing. There is dispersed camping around the lake, and there is also an RV park on the north side of the lake, off highway 485, but I have never stayed there. I have visited the store in the park for bait, and everything looked clean and in good repair.
There are a few camping sites around the boat ramp, and along the north side of the water. The road across the damn is gated, and I believe the south side of the lake is private farm land.
Still a great lake to visit if you like to fish, and want to throw down a tent for small camper. Full size RV's will probably have trouble getting around some of the narrow dirt roads.

Frequently Asked Questions

What camping facilities are available at Millers Creek Reservoir?

Millers Creek Reservoir offers both dispersed camping around the lake and a developed RV park on the north side off Highway 485. The RV park area includes a store where you can purchase bait and supplies. The facilities are generally clean and well-maintained. Dispersed camping provides more primitive experiences with fewer amenities but offers greater privacy and direct lake access. The area is quiet and secluded, making it ideal for campers seeking a peaceful outdoor experience.

Where is Millers Creek Reservoir located and how do I access the camping areas?

Millers Creek Reservoir is located in north-central Texas. The reservoir features dispersed camping areas around the lake. To access the camping areas, you'll need to travel about 10 miles on good dirt roads. Some camping spots may require four-wheel drive vehicles, especially during or after rain when the access roads can become muddy. The main RV park is situated on the north side of the lake, off Highway 485, which provides more developed camping options with easier access.

What is the current water level at Millers Creek Reservoir?

Water levels at Millers Creek Reservoir fluctuate seasonally and with rainfall patterns. The reservoir is primarily used for fishing and recreation, with water levels affecting both activities. For the most current water level information, check with the Texas Water Development Board website or contact local authorities who manage the reservoir. Water levels are typically higher in spring and after significant rainfall events.

Are RVs allowed at Millers Creek Reservoir campground?

Yes, RVs are allowed at Millers Creek Reservoir. There is a dedicated RV park located on the north side of the lake, accessible from Highway 485. This area is specifically designed to accommodate recreational vehicles with appropriate facilities. While the dispersed camping areas around the lake might accommodate smaller RVs, access can be challenging, especially on dirt roads after rain. Consider your vehicle's capabilities before attempting to reach the more remote camping spots with an RV.
