Great night stay

We stayed here overnight. The views were breath taking for sure. This is a park but you are able to camp there. We were the only ones we seen staying at the park.

The park does have a boat ramp. There are also flushable toilets and a showers. We did not end up using the showers so not sure if they were any good or not.

Great Overnight Stay!

Ended up boondocking at the park because of a terrible storm that blew in and wouldn't allow me to keep my tent down, but overall a great night even with sleeping in the car. Paved accessible roadways and free hot shower in the restrooms is a major perk!

Most incredible free site we have ever had.

Set up camp around midnight and almost no one else was here. Best to take showers on the morning after the cleaner has come and gone but still, free shower!!! I cannot stress enough how amazing this campsite is.

Horrible

The campsites are awful!!! Too close together, infested with red ants. The only good thing is that they pick the trash up everyday.

Can not believe it is FREE

This campground sits on top of the cliff giving everyone a fantastic view of Lake Meredith and the most beautiful sunsets. Be ready for the wind because it blew something fierce the complete time we were there. There are no hookups but you will find flush toilets, showers, covered picnic table, fire ring, trash cans, and pedestal grill. There is a dump station at the entrance. The road into the campground is paved and in good shape. Fishing, hunting, hiking or just enjoying the sun will fill your day. All the sites are on the side of the road through the campground. Nice boat ramp with a large parking area.

Quiet, Stunning, and FREE!

Sure, it's in kind of a strange location. Sure, it's sort of small. But the sites are big, the sunrises are huge, the lake is silent (at least in early Oct.)...

...And it's free. Only two bathrooms, but they're well  lit, well maintained, with flush toilets, and have showers!

Plenty of room between campsites, although the trees are more like tall shrubs, so you can wave at your neighbor. But they're so far away, you can't quite tell if they're waving back. Most of the sites are on a cliff that has a wonderful view of the lake, and each site has plenty of room, including a covered picnic bench and a fire pit.

I've paid a fair amount of money for far worse spots. Maybe it gets busy in the summer, but October finds this place not even half full (midweek) and extremely peaceful.

Also, my dog loved it, as you can probably tell in the pics.

SiteRight across from the bathroom.

Quiet with incredible views. Roomy enough access for our 32’ motorhome towing a car.

Breathtaking Views, Quiet Park

Very great spot! We fit our 37ft rv and Tahoe in one space and stayed for a week. Make sure to check the website, but currently camping is free at this spot up to 14 days and the showers/bathrooms are closed in the winter. Great spot!

Quaint

This campground was much needed after a week of camping in dispersed sites. Campsites are on the cliff overlooking Lake Meredith, which is currently less than half full. Each site has two picnic tables, a grill, a large fire ring, and an awning. There are four private bathrooms with a shower in each. This campground may get winterized during the cold months.

Free, free, and free!

This campground is located on an impressive peninsula sticking out into Lake Meredith and probably has the best location to view the sunset on the entire reservoir. The small campground has about a dozen sites, all first-come, first-served. None of these are good for RVs longer than 15 feet, but ours and our only other neighbor (in a van) fit just fine.

The bathrooms were very clean and are family-style, single use with toilet, sink and shower. The water was hot with good pressure. Did I mention this campground and showers are FREE?

The nearby boat launch is just down the hill, with a huge parking lot (our guess is that the lake gets BUSY in summer) offering some great fishing and water sport opportunities. There were a few hiking and mountain biking trails, though more seemed to be on the less developed, western shore of the lake.

The town of Fritch is less than 4 miles away with a few restaurants and a small grocery store and gas stations. Be sure to check the Alibates National Monument, just 10 miles south of town. A very cool, little known spot.
