Some good, some bad

We camped here while in town for a concert. I love a good riverside campground! The view was great. Sadly, we didn’t get a chance to fish. The campground layout was interesting… Some sites were normal, but then some seemed like they were parking spots on a gravel lot. We got lucky and had a good site because I used someone’s drive thru YouTube video to help select a site. Our site was still edited because it was down a small side turn off, but it wasn’t a loop, so you had to completely back your camper down the road a couple of sites to get it when leaving.

Great experience right on the water

We stayed overnight.  The campsite was right on the edge of the river.  Water and power hook up.  The bath house was a little dirty.  Bath house had a shower but we opted to shower in the RV.  Otherwise it was a great experience.. Will use again.

Good campground for RVs, not great for tents

Overall this is a nice campground, clean bathrooms and good views of the dam and river. However, if you plan on staying in one of the three tent sites I suggest 59 as it appeared to be the only one with good spot for a tent. I stayed at 58 which wasn't level and had a lot of rocks and roots. Site 60 appeared to have a soft grassy area, but it still looked a little slanted.

Excellent dam view!

First time visiting here. Really enjoyed it. I love visiting our TVA dams and this one is no exception. Spot number 18 was easy to back into. The view is perfect. Their is almost zero DTV service here though and on T Mobile the service was maybe 30 to 40 percent strength. However it wasn't a issue so much in my RV. The dump station is right up from my spot so that was nice if you bring a tank. The electrical and water hook ups were overall good with no complaints. Overall it was a good experience. Also the water fowl and bald eagles are very 😎 cool.

Beautiful, friendly

Campsite 6 was almost perfect! Close to bathrooms/showers and garbage! Easy set up! Beautiful view, very friendly and clean! If I was to have one wish it would be that they had a honey wagon or sewer hookup. We would love to come back sometime. Great memories!

I was not a camper until after I found this sweet experience.

I was very lucky to find this spot near the Great Smoky Mountains. It was October, cool and fine, when I backed up to the French Broad River in this immaculate campsite with super friendly hosts. There was a bridge several yards off so some car traffic but I always sleep fine to the hum of wheels, but not too much because it was quite a ways away from a heavily traveled highway. I like it so much, I stayed an extra night. Clean showers and restrooms, a nice paved walking path. Fire pits, picnic table at hand, power and water for 24.00 a night. I was prepared to spend motel-level money on this cross country trip from Albuquerque to the East Coast, so anything under 40 was a great savings. The experience I had at this campsite turned me away from Motels forever as a standard for road trips. Because of the joy and peace I found on these two nights I have spent months kitting out my Toyota Matrix for comfortable, campsite stopovers on any road trip in the future. Highly recommended by me.

Nice place.

Clean campground, friendly and helpful staff. The sites are a little close to each other. Go for the river view sites, you won’t be disappointed. Family atmosphere. Playground looked well kept. IWe had site #21. Kind of in the middle of Pigeon Forge and Knoxville. Woke up early enough to watch them release water from Douglas Dam.

Clean & peaceful

Very clean campground right on the river with a great view of Douglas Dam. Diverse population of bird species for birdwatchers. Very laid back attitude here. No parties or loud music. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is there was a dead duck hanging from the power lines in front of our site. He was hooked to a fishing line. Kind of an eyesore.

Nice riverside spot

We were contacted by the camp due to construction, got a nice upgrade to waterfront. Beautiful views, but not the best for hammock camping with 5 people.
