Quiet & Secluded

Quiet campground despite the number of sites. We enjoyed our stay, and even had deer wander near our site a few times. Our tent site was in Loop B but near the bathroom/showers in Loop D. Really liked how the toilet and shower were together in the same individual bathrooms.

Campground is conveniently located near Blowing Rock and other sights on the Parkway, like Cone Manor and Linn Cove Viaduct. Nice area.

Nice Campground

The campsites may be a bit close, but the beauty of Lake Jocasse always makes me forget all about that. Bathrooms had been updated since our last visit. Very nice!

There are lots of waterfalls, accessible only by boat. Unfortunately, we went in late summer, and some of the falls were only trickles compared to a previous spring visit.

It's sometimes difficult to reserve a site at this campground. Will definitely visit again.

Wonderful Campground!

Beautiful, secluded setting with only a few campsites. Close to Highlands, close to waterfalls. We enjoyed our stay, despite three days of rain. Will come here again.

Nice But Tight

This campground is in a beautiful setting with lots to see and do close by the park. Paved bicycle trails are all over the island, so if you bring a bike there's no reason to drive your car once you arrive (unless it's rainy). There's plenty of things within walking distance as well.

The campground was neat and well-kept. The only complaint is how close the sites are to each other.

Nice Campground!

This is probably one of my favorite SC State Parks. We camp here often in a travel trailer, and have stayed in both campgrounds. At most lakeside sites you can have boats tied or kayaks on the shore right at your site. Great for an early morning paddle!

Campground 1 is older and has poorer cell reception than Campground 2, but both are nice. I've heard the campgrounds will be closed for a few months, beginning in December 2022, for renovations. I'm excited to see what they do.
