Classic NC State park

We visited in April. Beautiful days hiking nearby, cold nights. Pet friendly. Pretty clean bath house. Visitors center nearby. Sites were mostly level, with gravel, fire pit, picnic table. Some were classically wooded, shady and some in the bright sun. Cute small town nearby.

Perfect for us

For us it was perfect. Lovely trails, clean facilities, the on site host was awesome very helpful. Our site #44 was perfectly leveled park was well kept. There is a Walmart location that's not far away driving distance cute little ice cream shop and a few other local places.

Hiking, blueway, clean showers!

The 221 access had everything we needed. There were sites with full hookups and sites with just electric. Most sites were really private which is nice. The park is spread out over several different, disconnected properties throughout the county which offered a lot of different recreational…

New River Delight

Primarily this was a quick get a away for us for a few days. Great internet at site 4. Sites with full hookups: 3, 7, [8, 12, 13, 14, 15 near bath house] 18, 19, 20 Bath house was nice and clean. Canoe up camp sites right along the River. Nice amenity; there are a few buggies provided at primitive…

Get what you pay for

Pros: Free, many sites with water access for kayaking/fishing, fire rings, parking lot close to sites. Cons: Lots of road noise-- you're sitting in a valley bordered by highway on 3 sides, and the echo is serious. Trash everywhere making some sites unusable. Lots of poison ivy.

So, if it's worth…

Simple Stay

We pulled in around midnight and we’re thankful that the gate was still open. Even after calling and making sure we would be able to access the site sometimes it’s still nerve wrecking. The signs were easy to follow. Hooking up to our water and amp was super simple and easy. The dump station was…

Warriors’ Path

A nice campground, although not the place to go if you’re looking for a “middle of nowhere” site. Quiet during our stay in the middle of the week, although a lot of coming ans going. Several amenities available, and close to Walmart, gas stations, etc. Bathrooms were relatively clean, hot showers…

Peaceful campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway

We stayed at Site E14 during a weekend in July. The campground is in an excellent location, just 5-10 minutes away from downtown Blowing Rock and of course it’s right on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway! Our site was peaceful and shaded, easily fit our 14 foot teardrop with screen room and our…

Clean, Quiet and Scenic

We stopped for just one night but this is a site you'd want to plan for more. The sites are level and a nice distance apart. The trails are nice and the river makes this site ideal. There is a museum and welcome center with information on Davey Crockett and the area along with a playground and lots…

Large Wooded Campsites + Tons of Trails & Beautiful Lake!

Had a great time at Julian Price Campground! ⛺️ 🌲

We had 2 groups and reserved sites B29 & B30 because they seemed more remote with water, restrooms, and trail access nearby. I could not have been happier about our sites!

LOVELY trees, shade, and close to everything we needed. This is a BIG…

  • B30 campsite – big site, spaced far away from others with plenty of trees & shade! Backs up to the woods. The Boone Fork trail entrance is between B29 & B30.

Tons of trees & places to hang hammocks or rain covers!

Across the road is a water spigot & public bathroom (men's and women's with 3 stalls + 2 sinks each).
  • B29 campsite – good distance away from other sites! Nicely wooded and very shady
  • Nice spots to hang a hammock!

Bad idea to camp here

The price is not worth what you get. Sounds and looks great via computer. Spots are described as water front . Totally not true. We were charged full price of 86.06 per night for a spot without full hook up. The second day we were abruptly informed that we were in the wrong spot and we were…

Perfectly private

This is one of my favorite campgrounds in NC. It’s great for the family or a group of friends. It does get a little buggy by the waterside sites but easy to avoid with bug spray! Each site has a good amount of privacy with the greenery being so dense. The bath house is close and clean (: The…
