KOA Campground North Sioux City

Grass, trees, and fire pits spread across this full-service KOA in North Sioux City, South Dakota, sitting close to the Iowa border with freeway access in both directions. The campground accommodates RVs up to 70 feet across five different site configurations, plus tent sites and cabin rentals, all with full hookups available including electric, water, and sewer. Sites are level, and the grounds are consistently described as well-organized, though campers should know sites run close together.

Families with kids will find the most to do here. The property includes a pool, mini-golf, a jump pad, playground, and a corn hole area, and the camp store delivers pizza on-site. Cleanliness comes up repeatedly across reviews, particularly the bathrooms and showers, which multiple visitors call reliably clean. "Friendly staff and perfect for kiddos," notes Brandon M. Laundry runs 24 hours. One caveat worth knowing: some amenities have not always been available when promised, and the on-site dog park gets mixed marks for upkeep.

For campers planning to explore the tri-state area, Stone State Park Campground is a nearby alternative with a more natural setting, and those interested in campgrounds near North Sioux City have several other options within a short range. Reservations are available and pets are allowed. If a convenient, amenity-heavy base camp along the I-29 corridor fits your itinerary, this KOA is worth a look.

Many visitors reported well-maintained facilities with clean bathrooms and friendly staff, plus good family amenities. Some noted concerns about cramped site spacing and high pricing including visitor fees.

Ehhhhh good concept

This place did not provide all of the activities they claimed to provide according to our itinerary the weekend we stayed. That was disappointing. But they have cabin rentals and a pool but the pool was shut down. Of course. My kids loved those super expensive backs of and that had “rare gems (rocks)” in them but we found pretty bland types. Overall, enjoyed the surrounding towns amenities over the campgrounds.

Nice

This KOA is well-maintained, a little older but the grounds are nice and it is well organized and maintained. The dog park is not so well-maintained but was adequate and the pool was clean, and there is easy access to the freeway Both north and south

Most expensive stay ever

The park itself is well maintained, showers and bathrooms were clean. Camp sites are very close together. We also had pizza that they make there and delivered to us. Downside, we stayed there because it was close enough to my most of my family. After paying $5 pp every time I had someone visit and $45 later, they left me not wanting to return.

A bit run down

Not what you would expect for a KOA with a “Holiday” ranking. Pot holes in the roads. Picnic tables sagging and peeling paint. Poor WiFi. Just looked neglected. Gave 4 stars instead of 3 because maybe COVID was impacting staffing. Sites were level. Bathrooms were clean although very few campers were using them. Not a bad campground, just overpriced.
