A privately run campground outside Deadwood, Hidden Valley operates from mid-May through mid-September and draws a mix of RV travelers and tent campers to its well-maintained grounds. Sites range from full-hookup pull-throughs accommodating rigs up to 60 feet to tent-only areas set on grass near a stream. The campground sits in a valley setting where a small brook runs alongside several sites, and at least one reviewer noted being able to hear the water throughout the night.
Amenities are thorough. The bathhouse draws consistent praise for cleanliness, and the grounds include a laundry room, a game room, a dump station, and WiFi. A small lake sits toward the back of the property. The campground also draws ATV enthusiasts, and the area around Katmandu RV Park and Campground and BLM Fort Meade Recreation Area reflects similar appeal for riders passing through the Black Hills region.
Hosts receive repeated mentions across reviews for being accommodating, including leaving site maps for guests who arrive after hours. Rates run $24 to $60 per night depending on site type, reservations are available, and pets are welcome. "Bathrooms were clean for the most part," notes Brooke, which aligns with the general pattern across reviews. The campground works well for RV travelers wanting full hookups, families looking for on-site activities, and tent campers who want electric access with a quieter setting.
