Open Campground

We don’t live far from this campground, so it was a quick weekend trip in early April. Early April in western Pennsylvania means overnight temperatures in the 40’s and highs in the 50/60’s. The campground sits at the top of a ridge, with an uphill climb if coming from the south. We stayed in…

Nice little campground

Our first visit to this campground and we actually found from using this website! We wanted a secluded site and close to Pittsburgh.

We arrived around 7pm and there was no check in, we drove around for a while trying to find a spot with a fire ring per some helpful campers. There are two…

  • Beautiful sunset!
  • Be mindful if you plan a hike how long it will take you, these trails are harder!
  • Map in the bathroom, didn’t see until morning! Not all sites were open yet.

Terrific

Kozy Rest was our first stop with our new TT. It was a wonderful first experience! Employees were happy to help and just to chat. Great camp store and super clean bathrooms and recreation hall. LOVE!

Primitive Camping is a MUST DO

We loved our stay! We definitely lucked out with one of the best campsites; we were right next to the creek, it was super spacious and super private. There’s rough terrain so typically these sites are walk in but there wasn’t many people so they allowed us to take our truck which was very…

Amenity and Pet Friendly, but Where are the Kids?

Good location for outdoor and city experiences, along with a relaxing getaway. Workers and permanent campers are very friendly with all the amenities necessary on site, including nice dog park. A small campground that didn’t have many kids for ours to play with during our visit. In addition, hill…

Just the right size, peaceful, great pool

We've stayed at Kalyumet on our travel trailer at least a dozen times over the last several years. We love it because it's not huge but has all the amenities that we like. The pool is nice and big with a mushroom fountain and built in seating in the shallow end. A short path through the woods leads…

Great Experience for the Newbie!

This weekend was our first excursion with our new travel trailer. The other campers were very nice and respectful. The grounds are well kept.

They are currently repaving the roads as well...but this was not an inconvenience for the weekend camper.

Great campground with fantastic lakefront sites!

Overall this is a pretty nice campground. There are a small handful of electric only sites(30a), but the bulk of them are dry. The campground is located on a peninsula on Shenango River Lake. A large number of them are on the lake providing a nice area to beach your boat or kayaks. There are…

Loads to do...!

This campground is deceptively big! The nightly RV sites are close to the park entrance and are relatively flat. The campground hosts themed events, game nights and arts& crafts. There is a swimming pool and playground for the kids. It also has a small café that sells baked goods and coffee. On…

Great family campground

Oil F.C. is a hidden gem nestled in the woods not far from Oil Creek State Park. They have a great playground, a maze, a catch and release pond. Lots of things to do to keep the kids, or in our case the grandkids occupied. They have a well stocked camp store, in case you don't want to make the 4…

Nice, small quiet campground

When we went we were one of about 2-3 groups there so my review may not be accurate when busy. It was nice basically having the place to ourselves.

The site we picked was off the beaten path so we had nice privacy. The site was large with plenty of space for 6 people and 4 tents. The views were…
